Funky Monk Hotel

great decor, really funky

when I arrived there was a young girl eating her macdonalds at one of the tables by the bar and it felt like a few people were just hanging around. ruined the feel as daft as it seemed

Location for a wedding was great and bed was comfortable and rooms very funky.

The disco into the early hours and the parking was inadequate.

I booked a room with a bath, in are room, It state with bath” No bath at all Just a shower” Only booked for the bath, didn’t want to complain it was busy the staff was so helpful and friendly But I did have to pay a deposit of £100 I would have be fine but I didn’t know that was the agreement until I got to the hotel” Was a little bit embarrassed” I get paid in cash and didn’t bring that much with me” because I’ll spend it all so happily, Have to leave it indoors’ Lovely place friendly helpful staff Just disappointed I didn’t get my bathtub,

No bath stated room “with bath” Only a shower Only a shower Not even a bath in the bathroom

It's just well a bit funky, in a good way.

Road noise from bedroom. I forgot this from last time but the pillows are horrendous. My neck and shoulders have been in pain all day. I remember now this happening last time I stayed. Wish I'd remembered pre booking as I would have stayed elsewhere.

The breakfast was fabulous - the restaurant looks great and the old bar area is quaint

We were told that we'd hear some noise on the Friday and Saturday night and that it would stop at 12.30. The music heard from our room was so incredibly loud that the furniture vibrated and glasses fell from the shelf - it was impossible to sleep - I went to complain on the first night as the music went beyond 12.30 , the second night it went in until 1 - I didn't bother complaining the 2nd night I just watched TV until it stopped. It was an expensive hotel that looked great but the noise was awful - the bathroom light wouldn't turn off and the bathroom fan didn't work - very disappointed

Loved our room, really comfy bed with quality duvet & pillows. Copper bath was a lovely touch to the room too. The whole place was beautiful, decor was amazing and all the little touches make it really special. Staff were also really lovely, and we had a great lunch in the restaurant. It is a little pricey but with all the detail and quality I’d say it’s worth it! Will definitely be back :)

I love the decor of the rooms, really classy and the bar/restaurant had a fantastic atmosphere on a Friday night.
