We recently stayed at The Heart of Drammen and had a wonderful time exploring the beautiful surroundings. The location is excellent—centrally situated yet relatively quiet, making it a great base for discovering the area. From the outside, the house looks lovely, and we appreciated its modern and spacious design. Getting access to the key was easy and convenient, and having supermarkets nearby was very practical. Contacting the host did not pose any problems.

However, there are some aspects that could be improved to make future guests’ stays even more enjoyable. One major issue was cleanliness, which unfortunately did not meet our expectations. Some bed linens didn’t seem entirely fresh, and we found hairs in the bed. The kitchen also needed more attention—there was old coffee left in the machine, dirty dishes in the dishwasher and cupboards, and quite a bit of rusted cutlery. Additionally, the small storage room was cluttered and not very clean. Beyond cleanliness, we noticed a few practical issues. There were no hooks for jackets in the entrance area and no towel racks in the bathroom or kitchen, which would have been useful. The bedrooms were minimally furnished—just a bed and nothing else—making them feel a bit bare. Heating was also tricky; the bedrooms had no radiators, so they were difficult to warm up, while the bathroom was very hot. Some of the furniture and amenities could use attention as well. The dining chairs were too low for the table, the couch was damaged, and while the TV wasn’t connected for regular channels, it was possible to log into streaming apps, which was a great alternative. The WiFi worked very well and was fast, which made this option even more convenient. That said, the TV was placed on a small cabinet where it seemed unstable, creating a risk of it falling. The guitar in the living room was a nice touch but unfortunately didn’t work. Additionally, a bathroom outlet wasn’t functioning, which meant we couldn’t use the washing machine. A small but helpful improvement would be to provide some essentials like a couple of toilet paper rolls and at least one or two dishwasher tablets for arriving guests.
