Fisherman's Rest

Fisherman’s Rest was an ideal location central to all the amenities, my visit was to catch up with family. The accommodation was clean, well stocked with everything we needed. Loved the comfortable king size bed.

Our only problem for us being elderly with back problems etc we found the couches a bit low and wide for our personal comfort.

Fully equipped with lots of attention to detail. Home from home. Plums were delicious and backgammon much appreciated.

Bathroom - very small.

No instructions sent about how to get into property. No indication given as to where property was located. A thank you for staying email was sent prior to us spending the night there..was a bit worrying to say the least!

Clean, comfortable, great shower, great location.

Some noise from the restaurant building above, but that was to be expected given they need to prepare for their busy day ahead.

Bathroom needs towel rails.

Comfortable bed and sitting room chair

This is a basement flat, which I new before I arrived. There were quite a number of issues which had a big impact on the comfort of my stay. It has 3 windows, one of which is below street level and there are none in the bedroom. Consequently the flat is dark and poorly ventilated so there is a stale smell. The heating is provided by storage heaters and the one in the bathroom didn't work, so very cold. The bathroom has a modern shower but is very cramped in getting in / out of the cubicle and there is black mould in the tray. The shower drains poorly so I couldnt take a shower longer than 5 minutes to prevent overflow from the tray onto the floor. Wardrobe space comprises a storage recess with no door and several hangers on a rail, which is in a different room to the bedroom. There is also very limited space in the kitchenette for food prep. In all, not a very nice, comfortable place to return to after a lovely day out. After 3 nights, I left a day early and booked alternative accomodation for the rest of my holiday. I let the agent know of the issues while I was there. This was not a cheap holiday and I expected a far better appointed accomodation for the cost per night
