USThe location was perfect. It was within walking distance to a lot of restaurants, shopping malls and a lot of what Nairobi has to offer. The area had the vibe I was looking for and I felt safe walking around even at night.
What's up with these fictitious reviews!!!! My stay at Azania was my last 2 days in Nairobi and the only time I was alone during my nearly 4 week stay in Kenya and Tanzania. I was looking forward to 2 days of relaxation after a whirlwind of non-stop activities. I was very disappointed to say the least.The apartment looked as if it had not been cleaned since the last guest left. The freezer had mold. One of the sinks in the bathrooms had a yucky mess. The floor had some dirty spots.. It was cold and uncomfortable throughout my stay. I asked the host if there is temperature control and he never responded about me being cold. There was not a single hand soap in any of the bathrooms, there was ONE lonely napkin on the dining table. No paper towel or anything to wipe a spill. Granted it's an apartment and you will need to provide your meals but to not have a couple of tea bags / coffee or anything that shows you are welcoming guests into your space was distasteful. The host said he will have some tea bags delivered in the morning. Morning came, no tea bags but he is telling me he has decided that I should give the security guard that brought me to the unit the money for my stay. I said fine and I asked if that meant the guard will bring a POS so I can pay. He said no, I will need to pay in cash, the machine broke down. I was taken aback because I had no plan to pay cash and according to the listing, 'no cash accepted '. I told him that will not be possible as I ensured I booked a place that accepts credit card. This man was telling me Booking.com got his info wrong and he didn't say he accept c.c. I then went to Booking.com and saw that the place is listed for booking right after I leave the unit and it specifically said 'no cash accepted ' even as we were talking. I told him there's not much I can do unless I ask my son to send money to my Mpesa account.
