Tockie's Cottage

This place was amazing, easily the best place we stayed on our trip to South Africa. The place itself is large and comfortable and equipped with everything you might need for a comfortable stay. While we were there we had an incredible heatwave so the air conditioning and swimming pool came in handy. My three year old spent hours playing in the pool and we made good use of the BBQ area. There is a nice restaurant and a Woolworths within a very short walk and it's well located for exploring Franschhoek and the surrounding area.

No-one could meet us for the check in so we had a bit of difficulty dealing with the alarm system but was resolved relatively quickly.

Just off the high street so easy walking distance to the village, restaurants etc. Deceptively spacious, the cottage opens out into hall with WC, bedroom with en-suite. Kitchen with lounge. Utility, further lounge and master bedroom with en suite. Beautifully kept grounds with a pool. Tockies is rustic, traditional, peaceful and very comfortable.

Very central venue. Good value for money (in summer). Save for the heating facilities in the house, it is good value for money.

The house is very cold. We visited the house on a very cold weekend. There was no gas for the gas heating service. Attempts to access the additional gas cylinder were unsuccessful, as it was locked. The fireplace caused an enormous amount of smoke in the house, which meant we had to open the doors and windows, thereby defeating the purpose of a fireplace. One half of the electric blanket in the main bedroom was out of order.
