Villa Carpe Diem, stunning villa with ocean view

Grote tuin en mooie locatie.

Het was jammer dat de keuken op de bovenste verdieping zat.

-great communication with an agent, very nice, responsive staff, early check in and late check out arranged with no problem -space- large property, very good size of bedrooms, plenty of storage -ensuite bathrooms to every bedroom: good size, shape and functionality -excellent equipment- absolutely everything needed on site -leisure facilities: (pool, jacuzzi, pool table, cross trainer), plenty of board games, football table, pool toys, balls etc and guide books -outdoor areas (balconies, patio etc) -parking space secured and large enough for 2 big cars -lift ( although "temperamental") -very clean place

-no separate toilet/sink next to the pool area, only ensuite toilet within bedrooms at the level -no sink in laundry room -no outdoor kitchen/cooking/barbecue facilities on pool level- barbecue stand only on the second floor near kitchen -villa surrounded by construction sites, dusty and noisy at times (especially by the pool), disturbed view -located in estate with almost nothing within walking distance (1 restaurant on the top of the hill near by), you need to drive everywhere - hair dryers only in 2 bathrooms -unsecured balcony's barrier on the kitchen floor -broken door leading to the driveway (ended up very inconvenient for us as we had wheelchair user) -rooftop not really in useable state and accessible by lift only

The hosts provided great information by communicating directly with us through a whatsapp group. This was very helpful to ask our questions and receive information about our check-in, fun activities in the area and recommended restaurants. This group chat was also very helpful when one of the AC units broke. The house was very clean, as well as the outdoors area. On our first day we were met by one of the hosts, who provided some information about the house. The house has a bit of a weird design with the front door opening to the floor with three bedrooms, below that a level with two bedrooms, the TV/lounge area and poole and football table. And the kitchen and eating room on the second floor. However, this didn't hinder us during our stay. The photo's on booking.com don't do the house justice as to how big it actually is. There are more rooms and they are bigger than they look. That was a positive suprise.

With the kitchen being on the second floor, there isn't a fridge or kitchen near the pool and jacuzzi. However, there is an additional kitchen and bathroom being constructed besides the pool. So this is only a temporary problem for now. The weather seemed to be a lot worse than the area further south. We had cloudy weather near the house for almost every day of our stay, while there was only sun in Lisbon as well as 6-9 degrees celsius colder. I don't know if this was just coincidence, but something to keep in mind.
