Mature Home Ella

Superb hosts. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The host helped us plan bus journeys to our next destination and even checked that we managed to get the connecting bus. Breakfast was delicious! It was really nice to see chipmunks and wild deer while we ate breakfast, too.

Shashi was amazing and he helped us with everything. He did an Ella tour for us and took us and dropped us wherever we wanted, not even charged us for half of the things. He made sure we were safe and nobody would take advantage of us. His wife is lovely and prepared us breakfast and dinner every day, all delicious and wonderful. It's the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka for sure. Even the dogs they have are lovely. If it was possible to put a 11/10, we would.

Everything was perfect.

The driver picked me up from station even with train delays. A few times he gave me a lift free to Ella Town if he was going that way. Lovely view of Mini Ravana Falls and Sun rise if you step outside your room and walk 2 mins. The wife happy to do laundry at high street prices, although the tough marks did not come out, it was convenient for me as I saved on carrying it to laundry. They provided water bottle at superstore prices, again very convenient if you can't carry heavy stuff.

The road to get to the home is extremely steep even Tuk Tuk struggle and charge double because of it. If you are fit and happy to walk 100 steps down as a short cut to main road, then walk or Tuk Tuk the remainder this place is a little hard to get to amenities and restaurants. It would have been good to be made aware of this by the owners, as a disabled person this was a big disappointment..

Shashi and his wife are the loveliest people, we had a wonderful time at their homestay. They organised us a scooter, helped with transport, were available whenever we needed anything and were so hospitable, knowledgeable and helpful. The homemade dinner and breakfast were delicious. Thank you, we will be back!

Really nice host with good communication and helpful with picking you up in Ella Town and take you to the accommodation ☺️ The room is standard , clean and a little bit moist, but that’s probably just how it is in the mountains.

Location is far away from Ella town, and the tuk tuk drivers take 1000 rupees to drive you up to the accommodation because it’s far away and the road is in very bad condition. There is a short cut / many stairs down to the normal mountain road, so if you chose to walk down to Ella town it will take you around 20-25 minutes.

Very friendly people. If you call upon arrival they will send a tuktuk to fetch you from the Centre of Ella. Which is great because the tuktuk drivers in Ella have formed a cartel outside the pick me app. It’s a very nice and clean room and bathroom with hot water. Very nice breakfast area and garden. Very good breakfast. There is also a good laundry service. At the end we were dropped off at the busstop for the bus to Galle (you have to change bus at Matare) which was great.

Due to the climate in Ella the room is a bit humid. It didn’t bother us.

the room was very nice and spacious, the bed very big and comfortable- the lady of the house was preparing the most amazing food every day- the view from the terrace so nice and the whole family very friendly and helpful- will come back when in sri lanka!

Friendly hosts who are passionate about their business. Can highly recommend to ask for dinner, was really delicious. They were also helpful in organizing transports (Taxi, Scooter, etc.) The room itself was clean and well maintained. Overall, great value for your money.
