Peaceful Hideaway in South Downs

I read the description well and it does say you have a kitchenette, however this is a bit misleading, only two dinner plates and bowls no small side plates and no bowls or dishes to use in the microwave/oven. Not set up to cook at all. I just managed microwave scrambled eggs on toast. I’m pretty adaptable and I found it tricky and frustrating. I think it’s better to say no cooking facilities. Bathroom lacked hand towel and somewhere to hang bath towel after use. Just felt like no one had road tested how this place is to use. Could be such a better experience Clipped edge of patio (that has clearly been clipped before) with tyre and ended up having to replace tyre

Lovely, comfortable and very clean studio style accommodation in a truly peaceful setting. We felt very relaxed and undisturbed and our dogs certainly enjoyed the fabulous walks and off- lead play on the National Trust land just up the farm track from the accommodation!

I hadn’t quite realised that there wasn’t a kitchen to the property (my fault probably for not paying enough attention at the time of booking - but maybe it wasn’t clear from the photos and description perhaps). However, once we settled in, we were fine with the microwave, kettle and toaster as we adjusted our plans and ate out, got take aways and actually enjoyed not cooking! 😃

Secure area for our dog to relax and be free off his lead. Shower sauna and steam room. The view over the fields.

Garden furniture was old and unclean. No teaspoons and not a lot of utensils. Towels weren’t in the holiday home. Gap on pillow area where pillow fell down the back of the bed. On advert it advertised there would be use of an electric charger which isn’t the case. The host was generous enough to offer it to us as we asked but she clearly stated it was for private use so we felt we shouldn’t use it. Also spa area is shared with the family household next door.

Fantastic location, really peaceful. Having a private driveway and the option to close the gates to keep the garden secure for your dog was an added bonus. The property itself was clean and functional, ideal for a short stay. There is a large park for walking the dog within waling distance.

Only negative was the lack of cooking facilities. Perhaps a future consideration could be to provide an air fryer to give guests more flexibility. This is only a minor thing and the property description mentions the facilities available accurately.
