Lake Wind Resort

We loved this trip, we saw so much, there is just tons of different wildlife in Sri Lanka We stayed here mainly to go on the Yala safari, and the location was perfect for that. Big thanks to owner and the front desk for all the help. Really grateful!

Great Stay We had a wonderful stay! The lake view from the property is absolutely amazing, especially during the evening sunset – truly a picture-perfect moment. The location is also ideal for those planning to visit Yala Safari, as it’s very close by, and the hotel even arranged a jeep safari for us, which was super convenient. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. While the rooms were a bit small, they were very quiet, clean, and neatly maintained, making it a comfortable place to relax after a long day. Highly recommended

The location and lake view was amazing .food was nice and the Staff was really helpfull.

They need more attention to clean the outside balcony and furnitures, balcony fence was not stable not feel safe for especially you have children .need new door locks for Family rooms have really old doors with almost broken door locks.

The location is superb. It's a lakefront property with all the rooms arranged with lake view. Has a nice swimming pool where you can enjoy the lake view while relaxing. There's a big tree in the middle and a nice deck overlooking the lake, where you can enjoy your tea in the evening watching the sunset. And the staff is super friendly too. It is totally worth the money you pay.

A little bit more maintenance would be good

We used the hotels as a base for a safari tour and it was an ideal base. The location is great, being a short walk (1500m) out of Tissa. Lake Wind Resort is a beautiful heritage building that has had life injected again by new management. The team could not have been more helpful and attentive. We had a few minor issues, such as a very minor leak (understandable as the build has recently had work done), but the team addressed promptly and properly. Don’t let that put you off because the hotel was very clean, comfortable and had AC, cold fridge and served good food. Breakfast on the veranda was memorable, it is such a beautiful setting, the omelette and fruit was delicious and so well presented. We walked along the lake each evening and enjoyed seeing the locals spending time and having fun there. I have added a few photos for information. We really enjoyed staying at the hotel and wish the team well as they definitely looked after us.
