Olive Lake Elementaita Lodge

The environment was serene. I love the fact that the location looks like someone is living in a remote village, with trees bringing in fresh air and the birds chirping in the morning to wake you up. The tents were elegant. That design, raising the tent above ground and having in-build toilets and bathrooms is excellent. The showers were hot. The bathrooms were spacious. The bed is large enough. No sight of mosquitoes. The swing was excellent. The food (dinner) was excellent, even as it was pricy.

The short ride to the hotel is really hard because of the state of the road - bumpy, rocky, and dusty. The reception at the game could have been better — the person at the gate had to come in to confirm so that he could open the gate. Perhaps next time check that everything in the room works before a guest checks in as I had a problem with the sink not draining water. The breakfast was underwhelming. The fruits were not good enough. For the rates charged, I expected more than that.

The restaurant was fine. Nice and kind waitress.

It would have been nice if they had remembered that we had actually booked a room! Maybe the trash in the room would have been cleared away...

If you're looking for a serene and relaxing space around nature, you can't go wrong with Ol-Muteita lodge. We felt at home right from the start! The food was delicious and fresh. Hats off to the chef, he really knows his flavors! The lodge was always clean topped with a great team of warm staff who were available to help at all times. The rooms were and interesting balance between safari and tech! So creative! Can't wait for our next trip back
