Henley-on-Thames

The location was ideal. Local facilities were enough for all we needed. The house is lovely for a large group like ours. Our host was very prompt at replying to our questions.

Better instruction on how to use the shower. Also a list of things that a guest might need, such as hair dryers, iron, ironing board. The dishwashers was still loaded and there were some areas where the cleaner had missed, such as under beds. The garden lawn was in desperate need of a mow and that was a little disappointing.

Location. Well equipped kitchen. Cosy. Pleasant country vibe. Lovely cosy bedding and beds. Clean. Xmas tree. Spacious.

Bathroom needs updating and refreshing and some small details around the home need attention for safety such as a slim handrail along the staircase wall. All outside areas are unkempt and messy.

The cottage itself was spacious and flowed beautifully. A separate room for washing with additional sink and space to dry. The kitchen was large, all worked, was fully equipped and clean! It flowed nicely into the dining room/conservatory, which again was spacious and comfortable. The living area was warm and inviting with large sofas, tv and coffee table for games. Perfect for a big family - we were 8 and a dog! The bedrooms were all clean and comfortable - the mezzanine, a winner! I had contacted Tanya to ask about the heating because my 87 year old Dad was staying too and does feel the cold. This was not a problem. The heating was on timed and the cottage was always warm - thank you Tanya. Would definitely stay again!

NOTHING! I should say you need a car but you'd have driven anyway! And the drive is plenty big enough for two or even three!

A little bit tired now overall but the main thing was we visited after a week of colder weather and the owner had turned the heating off and we had no access to turn it back on so it was rather cold the first night and just about minimum acceptable the following two nights. When paying this sort of money you expect to be able to control the heat level to your own preferences all year round.

The property was within a few minutes walk of a really lovely gastro pub where we ate out at night.

The cottage and its contents were really dirty. I spent the first three hours of our stay going to a supermarket to buy cleaning products then had to fully clean the kitchen and bathroom/toilet and bedrooms. ( no cleaning products provided in the property not even a dish cloth) . I had to clean all the glasses, crockery and utensils before we felt we could use them. I found plates with dried food on. It felt like a lot of the items had it been used for years and had just been left unchecked. The shelves in the kitchen cupboards and drawers were dirty too and the inside of the fridge was awful. This is not good enough. The cottage smelt of mould and damp too. The rugs were musty and the carpets stained. I took photos of the mess and am happy to share. We were 6 adults staying there. We were provided with one hand towel per toilet which is not enough and a small bath towel each. No spares provided so very grubby by the end of our stay. The garden was run down like the rest of the property there were outdoor seats and a table in need of jet washing but as no cushions we couldn’t sit on them our clothes would have been ruined. There was no contact from the host during our stay to see if everything was ok. I would not recommend anyone staying here.

My family and I stayed here to celebrate my sisters birthday, the house is fabulous, the garden superb for sitting out and also a very comfortable sitting room for relaxing in, the kitchens well equipped and the whole house very clean
