Loop Head Lighthouse Attendant's Cottage

What an exceptional property! Surrounded by the wild Atlantic sea, unbelievable views. Drenched in history yet up to date mod cons in keeping with historic traditions! So honoured to be gate keepers to the lighthouse for our time at Loophead lighthouse. Our host Jane was fabulous! So welcoming & informative introduced us to beach we would not have found without her. Our visit was so exceptional we have booked in for further two stays, counting down the days till we get to stay again! Thank you so much Jane & all the team for the most memorable stay of our lives.

What a spectacular and unique location! Jane was the most perfect host and was incredibly helpful. The cottage was perfect, newly and very tastefully refurbished, cosy yet spacious and being within the walls of the lighthouse complex, felt very special. The included Lighthouse tour was well worth doing and the views from the top of the lighthouse were breathtaking. I could not recommend Loop Head Lighthouse Attendant's Cottage more highly!!

We had the best stay at Loop Head Lighthouse Attendants Cottage! The cottage was so cosy and comfortable and beautifully decorated. The cottage was so well equipped with everything we needed, and our host Jane couldn’t do enough for us. We had an amazing family getaway here, with lots of adventures and activities on our doorstep. The location was as amazing as you could imagine being on site with a lighthouse and surrounded by great walks. Thanks to Jane for being such a helpful and accommodating host. We are planning our next stay already ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It felt so cozy & inviting

It's no exaggeration to say this is one of the most amazing places I've ever stayed in. It was honestly an absolute privilege to stay here for two nights. The location itself is obviously gorgeous, and this alone would've been enough to make it feel like paradise. You can stare out to the estuary on one side and the ocean on the other. As you walk along the cliffs, you are accompanied by the roar of waves crashing onto the cliffs. When you lock the gates to the lighthouse area at night, you basically have the peninsula to yourself. Then you can go to bed, lulled to sleep by the lighthouse light shining out and then retreating. But it's not just the gorgeous location that makes it so special - the house itself is absolutely exquisite. The attention to detail means that, wherever you look, you give a little gasp of joy. Little shells dotted here and there, a variety of paintings and pictures in all corners - all a joy to behold. The record player with actual LPs to play, the books, the baskets, the lights, the flowers in the garden, the well equipped kitchen. And my two favourite views: one from the garden through the arch in the wall and one from the loo upstairs! But the icing on the cake is the welcome we had from Jane. She was informative, friendly... just made us feel at home immediately, and was there when we left as well. You can see that she lives and breathes this beautiful area, and this is infectious. And once you've stayed there, you understand why. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful place with us.

Beautiful cottage in a truly spectacular location. Very clean and comfortable with everything you could need in a self catering property. The staff Jane and Martin were so helpful. Really useful information in the cottage on Loop Head and activities in the area. Great experience.

Nothing. It exceeded our expectations

We loved the lighthouse keeper assistants cottage. The décor was cosy and charming, the facilities worked really well (heating & hot water were amazing), the host (Jane) was so warm and welcoming and the location is so special...wild and beautiful. We loved our tour of the lighthouse (included with the rental) and being able to grab a coffee from the little coffee shop before we set off on our days adventures around the Loop Head peninsula. When the adventures were over and the gates closed to the lighthouse in the evening, we felt privileged to have this little piece of Ireland to ourselves for the night with the flashing of the lighthouse reminding us of the rugged location where we would be spending the night. Great memories made :-)
