The accommodation was good and very practical. The air conditioning, gas stove, washing machine; a comfortable bed and a good shower. The location was a 20min+ walk to the island of Ortigia, and to the bus station for the airport, I am physically fit and so that was not too challenging, even considering the heat. There was a cafe bar nearby for good value breakfast.

I had two issues, one of which was nothing to do with the host or the facilities, it was due to communications via Booking.com, confusion which meant I was waiting for over 30mins is 33 degrees heat, in a very exposed space, to get the lockbox code. The confusion was due to one fundamental mistake on the part of Booking.com, that is their giving the host the wrong email address for which to contact me. The host was given my business email, with which I had paid the original bill, however the email address I entered in my Booking.com account profile was another email, one which I use exclusively on my phone when travelling. The second issue was noise from the street, which was unsettling at night and affected my sleep. A lesser issue was the mezzanine bed space had a low ceiling for a man of 6ft tall.
