BEI loved my stay at Somer House! When I arrived I immediately felt at home. I could freely park and the hosts helped me with the luggage. They showed me the beautiful garden and swimming pool. The room was large and beautifully renovated. Greet and Geert are very sweet and helpful. They gave me good tips to visit a wine garden. The breakfast was delicious, self-made and extensive. I come back next year!

I used to manage a guesthouse in Stellenbosch so I am generally more understanding than the average person when there are issues at your accommodation- but this time I simply cant stay quiet about the fact that the owners were greedy by opening this place to the public before it is has been finished. Half of the place does not work or is still under construction. I booked a place worth more than R3,000 only to be told when I arrived I was assigned to a small little room with just a bed and a bathroom because the apartment that I booked is not ready yet. I had to insist that they show me the two available apartments so that I can choose what to do because a refund “is not an option”. I ended up staying in an apartment, purely because the assigned room was more like a little cage, with no curtains and street facing windows so it was uncomfortable to move around, the whole place was still smelling like paint and i had to leave and come back two hours later to give them a chance to get the place ready and cleaned. It spoiled my whole stay because I did not get what was advertised.
BESomer House couldn’t be more perfect. The rooms are very spacious and beautifully furnished in a modern but authentic way. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly. Even though it’s in the middle of Somerset West, you feel like you’re in the middle of nature, thanks to the very big and beautiful garden. It’s the perfect base if you want to visit wine estates (Vergelegen is super close by), golf terrains (there’s a very nice golf course next to the guesthouse) or numerous nice restaurants.
