The Great Escape

The location of the apartment is nice, there is a pharmacy nearby and you can walk to the city centre. The building entrance locks when it closes and can be opened using a code or the token that's on the key (from the outside) or a switch (from the inside). The apartment is on the first floor, only a few stairs away. There were wet wipes and enough toilet paper for our stay (3 days, 2 nights). The bathroom had heating that you could turn on.

Upon first entry there was a sewage smell that kept returning throughout our stay (3 days, 2 nights). Living room: The AC barely heated up the living room (at max temperature), let alone the other rooms, which is probably why the host brought an external heater with him that we could plug in the bedroom. Bedroom: Whenever we'd fall asleep on the bed, we'd wake up with bites on our arms, body, face. We didn't find any insects in the bedroom, apart from one dead bug on the ground. Our only explanation is that there were bed bugs, which would make sense because the mattress did look old. Bathroom: There was barely any hot water, it kept changing from hot to cold and it would either be too hot for 20 seconds and then turn to cold or just not turn hot at all. Finally, we wanted to shower, but the diverter that's supposed to change from the bath faucet to the shower head did not work. We had to get a jug from the kitchen and wash our hairs by filling it and pouring it on our heads while juggling between the ever-changing hot and cold water. When we returned after our night out, the bathroom was flooded. Kitchen: We were not able to get hot water from the kitchen sink either, there was a switch that looked like it would be for the boiler which we tried but there was still no hot water. The microwave looked like it had never been cleaned, with yellow stains all over it. All in all, we cannot recommend this apartment at all, let alone for the price it's listed at. We have stayed at way cheaper apartments and we have never experienced any of these things. To top it off, when we mentioned our problems to the host, he deflected and blamed us for all of them, insinuating that we had left the bathroom water running before going out and that our bites were simply from insects that came inside the apartment when we were opening and closing the entrance door.
