My travel partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Roots! The staff went above and beyond to meet our needs, the rooms were comfortable and the atmosphere simply paradise

The location and rooms were quite nice.

The layout of the property made it difficult to get to the beach after certain hours, but I truly don’t mind walking a few extra steps.

Location is good. Breakfast was rather mediocre as they where out of most ingredients in the kitchen. Last morning they had run out of all juices, for example. Lord knows when ackee and saltfish have reached Root's kitchen last time. Nevertheless we were happy that the management agreed to provide us free breakfasts for the issues with our room.

Before arriving we had confirmed that we can check-in 2pm. Well, 3.30pm we where told our room changed and while going to the room, plumbers were changing the toilet seat (sic). Room was cleaned and ready maybe 5pm, but still missing toiletries etc. The room next to us had a full-blown, noisy bathroom renovation ongoing. The reason for our room change, we were told, was that "the previous guest did not want to leave"(!) Unbelievable management, and now we had to suffer its consequences. The room we were given and one next to it were highly likely under programmed renovation.

Right on the beautiful 7 mile beach, walking distance to the Reggae Marathon start. Amazing whirlpool tub perfect for tired legs after the race. Best, kindest, most helpful staff - Opia, you are a star. Phoned me to find out if I was ok when I had not arrived at my planned time…the Knutsford Express bus from Montego Bay was running late…then sent a driver to pick me up at the Knutsford office so I did not have to walk to the hotel.
