Numerous problems regarding cleaning, parking, kitchen appliances, heating, speed of responding to fixing things or in most cases not fixing them at all. The response to the review was seriously incorrect and it is impossible to get an email or postal address to lodge a formal complaint.

The property was clean and tidy and easy to find. There was plenty of cutlery and crockery. Storage in the bedroom was good.

The shower head was fixed and awkward to use if you didn’t want to wash your hair. Small children would struggle to use the shower. The kitchen wasn’t the best equipped for cooking. No Pyrex dishes and only 3 cooking utensils, making cooking more difficult than it had to be. Dishwasher door was broken and wouldn’t close properly whilst on. The table to eat from is crammed into a corner of the living area. The property didn’t smell great. Definitely a smell of dog from the hoover (which was a Henry so easily avoidable by cleaning it) and an overall smell of dog. We brought our dog and there is no outside space for him. We take him everywhere and we have stayed in many places that are dog friendly without the dog smell. Only 2 hangers to use in the bedroom. Smell of drains when the washing machine door was open. The heating would randomly come on making the property way too warm, especially as it was warm out anyway. The property is well insulated and for me a little too warm with no AC or fan.

Location was very good the property had great potential.

We reported a problem with the shower (water temperature range from too hot to scalding) on Tuesday and it was Sunday before temporary fix (tempertature range bearable to very hot) was put in place after 18 calls and numerous messages regarding this issue, no alternatives were offered throughout this time. The dishwasher door didn't close therefore unuasable as water leaked onto floor. Clothes dryer had one leg missing. Only 2 hangers in wardrobe. We were promised a refund but have heard nothing. Booking.com were disapointed with what we had reported to them and assured us Caledonian Luxe Stays would contact us within 48hrs which has passed, nothing so far...... A great property let down by poor management.
