The Calypso Cave

Frühstück. Zimmer war nicht so wie ich es mir vorgestellt habe. Keine gute Beleuchtung im Schwimmingpool.

The photos looked amazing but it was very average We recently spent five days at Calypso Cave Suites, and overall it was an average stay. The room itself was surprisingly small for something advertised as a “suite.” There was nowhere to sit except on the bed, which made it a bit uncomfortable for a longer stay. Storage was also limited—no cupboard, just an open area with a hanging rail for clothes. The Jacuzzi bath was a nice feature in theory, but the water never got warm enough to really enjoy it, which was disappointing. On the positive side, the value for money was reasonable. However, considering the many great accommodation options available in Ürgüp—often at the same or even lower price point—I think there are better choices around the area that offer much more. For just a little bit more, you get fantastic.

Wir sind aktuell zum zweiten Mal im Calypso Cave und möchten schon jetzt eine Bewertung schreiben, weil wir wieder rundum begeistert sind. Schon beim ersten Mal waren wir sehr zufrieden – deshalb war für uns klar, dass wir wiederkommen. Und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht! Besonders möchten wir uns bei der Herr Ahmet Gästebetreuer bedanken, die sich wirklich rührend um uns gekümmert haben. Sie waren jederzeit ansprechbar, herzlich und haben uns mit einem Lächeln empfangen. Es war schön zu sehen, wie sehr ihnen das Wohl der Gäste am Herzen liegt – das hat unseren Aufenthalt noch angenehmer gemacht. Ob Zimmer, Essen, Service oder Sauberkeit – alles ist top! Wir sind rundum zufrieden und können dieses Hotel mit bestem Gewissen weiterempfehlen. Ein großes Dankeschön an das gesamte Team!

We had a double room which was very clean and comfortable. The staff were all very helpful and we enjoyed exvellent breakfasts. On our last night, we upgraded to the Zeus suite with swimming pool, hammam jacuzzi and shower. The suite is enormous and we enjoyed the watery luxuries, but we did feel a bit claustrophobic in the morning after a night in a windowless room with no sunlight. That is, of course, the nature of caves, and does not in any way detract from the amazing hospitality we recieved from our hosts. The view from the breakfast room and balcony is superb, especially at dawn. We can highly recommend the Calypso Cave.

Incredible stay!! The staff was very kind and always ready to meet our needs. The breakfast was amazing, and the cooking ladies were very friendly!

Sometimes there were no one in the reception, but after sending them a message they appeared right away, so it's not a problem!
