Beautiful place to stay. The family is just beautiful, they make you feel at home. Their paratha is the best! Room clean, hot shower and the terrace is very nice to have breakfast.

If you want to spend your time in varanasi is quite far.

It was my second time staying at Mohits Guest house. It was just as nice as my first time. They started to serve home cooked food now which was incredibly good. One should definitely try it.

I really liked the place. It's situated in a cozy area called Sarnath a bit outside of the hustle and bustle of Varanasi's city center. I really had a good time here, was able to do Yoga every day on the huge terrace and really fell in love with the place. The owners made me feel like at home here and they're really helpful and generous with the guests coming here. It's the perfect place if you want to escape the loud, crowded and demanding city center. Also, the food you can order directly at the hostel is sooo delicious for a very good price. All in all, a wonderful experience here.

The owners were very welcoming and it was like living in their house. The food was excellent and it is in a nice calm area near Sarnath.

Our group of +20 foreign Buddhist pilgrims really enjoyed staying at the Mohit Paying Guest House. Mr. Mohit Gupta and his family and staff were very friendly and helpful towards us. We had a very long journey in India and Nepal, and this was our last stop before going home. We stayed two nights and it exceeded our expectations! The ambience and energy of Mohit's place is very relaxing, enjoyable and spacious. And it is a very family-friendly guest house, as we have children who accompanied us on our journey, and we only want to stay at family-friendly locations. Our group also enjoyed the 2nd and 3rd floor balconies that we could hang out and enjoy the morning or evening view. The rooms were very relaxing, clean and good to sleep in. The location is also very convenient because it's a 7 minute walk to the Sarnath Buddhist Temple and a 19 minute walk to the Dhamekh Stupa. Mohit's customer service is great and I would love to go back to his place! Thank you Mohit for your hospitality and we hope to stay at your place again in the future!

I'm Australian and visited during the low season and had the most incredible stay — it honestly felt like this family had a magic wand hidden somewhere. Every little problem I brought with me, they solved with such kindness and ease. From helping me get tailored clothes made, to fixing the screen on my phone, to preparing the most delicious meals, to even arranging a local traveler to accompany me to the ghats — they thought of everything. Mohit’s wife cooks the most amazing food, with a huge variety of delicious home-style Indian dishes. I probably ate 70% of my meals here, and every bite was a treat! As a solo woman traveler, I felt completely safe and cared for. When I ran into trouble with a bad Uber driver, they stepped in right away and sorted it out without hesitation. Whatever was on my to-do list, they somehow made it happen. Their home is full of warmth, laughter, and the sweetest little girls you’ll instantly fall in love with. Mohit’s mother also carries such wisdom and clarity in her words that, even when she spoke in Hindi, I found myself understanding. They’re wonderfully creative too — they hand painted uplifting murals to brighten the walls, from a cute panda to a serene Buddha, and they’ve even made cozy seats out of recycled tyre wheels. In the evenings, the open terrace is the perfect place to sit, while doves that have been nesting there for over five years coo gently in the background. The family also runs a small shop, so snacks and drinks are always within easy reach. Compared to the bustle of the city, this place is peaceful and quiet, yet still just a short walk from the Buddhist temples in Sarnath. The rooms are comfortable, with options to suit everyone — from dorms to single rooms and larger family spaces. Truly, this is the BEST place I have ever stayed.
