"Good stay overall but needs refurbishment."

Beautiful views. Copious meals. Friendly staff (special thanks to the French-speaking one), and I appreciated the daily transfers to Yoro since we came by train and had no car.

This is my fourth time staying in a luxury traditional onsen hotel in Japan. I had a pleasant stay overall, but I have to say that compared to other similarly priced options around Japan, this hotel needs serious renovations in terms of equipment and decoration (old smelly toilets in the room, lots of worn down walls and items). Onsen is nice because of the views but very small. The meals felt rushed at night. I am not a slow eater at all, but the next course would often arrive before I finished the one before, which is also a first for me when having a kaiseki or multi-course menu in Japan.

The service was impeccable, the room was clean and loved the private tub and kaiseki meals. Loved the hospital of the staff as well.

The road leading to the property was really narrow for 2 way traffic and can be challenging. The signage to the property can be improved.

"Wonderful peaceful retreat with number one service!"

One of the best Japanese ryokans I've stayed in. Conveniently located near to Nagoya yet secluded enough to enjoy a couple of days away from the crowd. The private onsen rooms have a to die for view of Nagoya and everything is excellently run and with wonderfully attentive staff. The Yoro park is a bonus where you can enjoy nature walks.
