Harkstead Hall By Group Retreats

Perfect for a family get together. Great facilities, well appointed kitchen. Lovely secluded garden. Great for kids.

The property had a few extras which were not actually mentioned on this website! There was a sauna and also a freestanding pool which was a real bonus. The property, especially the kitchen was well equipped. Unfortunately, the extending table in the kitchen had food remains between each leaf and there were ants so we had to put all food items in the fridge. Also the recycling bins were overflowing when we arrived. Luckily as there was a caretaker available we were able to communicate any problems easily and so our stay was not unduly affected by any of these issues.

Beautiful property with very comfy beds. Lots of space for large groups.

Not as clean as I would expect. Taps had marks on, glasses and cutlery were a bit grubby as well as hand soap obviously watered down. There were also lots of dead flies and bugs around the rooms implying that the house had been cleaned a while before rather than just before our visit. There was also a huge live hornet in one bedroom that luckily we spotted and got rid of before going to sleep. Another important note to mention was the hot water was scalding. Several of us burnt our hands on it and there are no signs to say that it’s very hot. The weather was nice so we sat in the lovely garden but there was bird poo on the garden furniture so we had to clean that first.
