kapi wild cottage Ella

Wir waren 4 Nächte im Kapi Wild House Cottage und es hat uns sehr gut gefallen! Die Unterkunft ist außerhalb von Ella, aber zu Fuß in ca 1 Stunde über die Nine Arch Brücke, landschaftlich ein Traum, gut zu erreichen. Kapis Onkel fihr uns ab 600 Rupien nach Ella, wenn wir weitere Wege hatten. Das Cottage ist basic, aber hat alles, was wir brauchten, inclusive heißer Dusche! Und wenn uns etwas fehlte, würde es gleich besorgt, oder repariert. Das Cottage liegt in einem Dorf, sehr ruhig. Das Frühstück und Abendessen sind der absolute Hammer!! Ich habe noch nie so eine gute Küche in Sri Lanka erlebt. So lecker und vielseitig! Kapi gibt auch gute Tipps für Ausflüge. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohlgefühlt. Ein sehr anderes Erleben von Ella war dort möglich!

Nous sommes deux femmes a avoir réservé cet hébergement mais malheureusement l’expérience n’a pas été très positive pour nous… La météo n’a pas aidé car il pleuvait très fortement pendant notre séjour. Mais surtout, nous ne nous sommes pas vraiment sentis à l’aise dans les lieux…C’est bien sûr un ressenti personnel, mais l’atmosphère ne nous a pas permis de profiter du séjour comme nous l’espérions. Nous avions réservé 3 nuits mais nous avons finalement décidé de partir le lendemain matin après notre arrivée. Cet avis reste simplement notre expérience personnelle. Nous espérons que d’autres voyageuses s’y sentiront mieux que nous.

amazing experience in the jungle, outside of touristic Ella. Please be aware it is really basic room, in the middle of the forest, we stayed during rains and it was really wet all the time. But the host was sweet and he is an excellent chef! Also I suggest to rent a scooter.

My wife and I stayed for two weeks in Kapi's beautiful accommodation, it is a simple place, small but very special both for the nature that surrounds it, as well as for its kind, respectful and prodigious cook host, we recommend this place if you want to spend a few days disconnected from the chaotic and touristic centre of Ella. Kapi can accompany you to do some routes as he knows the territory very well, he is always ready to help you with whatever you need, every day he cooks with fresh food and always has a smile on his face. We are very happy to have spent a few days in your accommodation and hope to come back next year.

Nothing there to complain about.

Kapi has changed the name of his guest house . So read the reviews under Effing moon Ella as well .Huge breakfast for a one person . Yogurt fruit eggs coffee tea honey toast . All made with fresh ingredients every meal. Kapi goes to the market very early in the morning to buy the ingredients for breakfast and In the afternoon for your dinner. So please tell Kapi what time you will want to eat and if you want to order his dinner, huge potions and he makes some traditional dishes only from the local Ella area. He is a very good cook . Takes pride in the food served to you. He will explain what it is and how to make it. He truly is a great chef and prices at 800R for dinner !! So about the service you can experience here. I came for 2 days and stayed 7 days. Kapi was a guide before and he will take you to beautiful places. Lookouts high on the hills that locals go to. . With beautiful drives up and back . Using his older neighbors Tuk Tuk . The prices were half that of average charges in Ella. We did a day trip to Buttella to visit the water fall. The drive was so beautiful. Kapi went with me to show me the way on foot to the 9 arch bridge then to little Adams peak, local markets in small towns near by. All using his neighbors Tuk Tuk and very cheap charges. This is a true homestay . You will be supporting a local man who lives with his aging dad. Who live very simple and both very honest, humble, genuine people . There is no internet ATM . But the signal is very strong for your phone. I watched movies every day with no problems. Kapi likes to sit out at night and watch the stars . You can sit with him to . After 2 days I asked him to eat with me at the table for dinner . This was very enjoyable for me as I had the pleasure of getting to know more about Kapi and village simple life. There is a small shop with simple snacks about 10 mins walk . 500R for neighbors Tuk Tuk to town 1 way. Or walk the train tracks . I wish him the best of everything. Best stay.

All was wonderful.

The cottage is set in a small clearing in a traditional village; peaceful surroundings, many birds; wild peacocks, doves, bee eaters, eagles...if you love nature its ideal. Although the facilities are basic, Kapi is a talented chef; his dinners are not to be missed, with very reasonable prices. He also makes the best ginger tea ever! Close to 9 Arches Bridge, a tea plantation, temples, and Ella Viewing Point. The villagers are very friendly and like to chat; this is a good way to experience Sindalese rural living. If you wish to go out, Kapi's neighbour has a tuk tuk at very reasonable price, and Kapi will accompany guests on trips if desired.

Nothing to complain about, any problems swiftly remedied.

This was one of the best stays we have had on our sri lankan adventure. It is a forest experience where you can switch off from the world. There is no wifi but there is reception if you have a sim. Beautiful quiet jungle homestay with amazing birdlife and Kapi the host will look after you. The breakfast was delicious and we ate dinner there every night too as it was too good not to. Tea and fresh fruit every day. Comfy bed. Clean room. We walked to Nine arches from the house and also walked to ella town and little adams peak (if you like a good hike)- can also easily walk to the road to get a tuk tuk (or kapi's neighbour has a tuk tuk at a good price. Thank you, we hope to make it back one day. Recommend this experience!

Not a thing.

The location, although slightly further from Ella than others, was excellent. You are located in a beautiful landscape surrounded by the sounds of nature. This is perfect for travellers who have the time to enjoy Ella and want to experience Sri Lankan hospitality at its finest, not just the main streets and bars. The owner and his family were very kind, attentive and just very good people. To find the rooms is a bit difficult so the owner met us and bought us through a very scenic walk, where locals were greeting us along the way. The bed is very comfortable and throughout the night you are comforted by the sounds of nature, we slept very well! Perfect stay for backpackers & Travellers, an excellent experience.

The water pressure was slightly low but this didn't impact our stay at all.

Kapila, the host, was without a doubt the best about the place. Also the nature surrounds were amazing. Kapila cooked amazing traditional food for us and came with us to visit the places around. Unforgettable experience.
