Rusty Duck Retreat Shepherds Hut

Loved our recent stay. Lovely location, beautifully kept grounds, everything was spot on, couldn't have asked for a better mini break. Attention to detail in decor, chilling atmosphere, birds singing, fish feeding.. Great added atmosphere with the lights on & the logburner on in the evening in the back garden.. :) I would highly recommend 👌

Absolutely perfect for a weekend get away, great location, peaceful and the owners had thought of everything. You had everything you needed and more from firewood, tea, coffee, biscuits, all sorts of cooking utensils etc,

Nothing it was perfect

The whole experience was incredible, the property is beautiful with great surroundings. The hut backs onto a horse field where it was lovely to hear them in the morning whilst enjoying a nice cup of tea. Communication with the owners was astounding from beginning to end! They have a dog who comes to visit if you are happy for her too. She is beautiful and we definitely enjoyed her visits. We will definitely return.

Fun place for a short stay; good communication with owners, well equipped & finished to a high standard. Quiet, nice deck& pond. V special

We benefited from great weather so could spread out a bit on the deck. It’s very cosy inside - not much hanging space if you don’t travel light.

For it’s size it’s amazing what has been fitted in. It was very convenient for us and beautifully done.

No big deal but a dustpan and brush and wooden spoon would have been helpful. Also we had some difficulty getting out of the main gate when on foot so some instructions would have been helpful.

Our stay at the Rusty Duck was absolutely perfect. Alex and Simon couldn’t be more informative before you arrive, which made travelling/finding the retreat easy and simple. Even down to the details/booklet inside- really great hosts. The hut itself is beautiful and spotless. The outside area is lovely, especially when the sun goes down and the fairy lights come on. Bella the dog was an added bonus for us too! We only stayed for one night and it felt like a complete reset for us, it was so relaxing and quiet compared to our normally very busy household. We will definitely be returning in the near future!
