La Malila Hostel

The Hostel is located close to the Bus and Train Station which makes it very convenient. It’s also less than a 5 min walk from several night markets. The Hostel itself is very calm and welcoming. We had only a short stay but were very happy with our private room. Thank you!

Some might not find the mattress very comfortable, it has metal springs. For a short stay it didn’t bother us.

Comfortable, cool, chic, relaxed, clean, quiet, good showers, kitchenette, lounge/dining area, free tea coffee etc, good location (ten minutes walk to station, markets) welcoming reception, very white cotton bed linen, solid built bunks, good mattress Udon Thani is surprisingly nice. some nice parks and traffic a bit quieter. Big market near the station and street of bars etc for tourists.

(not important to me but) breakfast was just a loaf of bread and jam in the fridge (plus tea and coffee of course).

Finally a hostel in Thailand that has some private rooms. We had a great time here and Title (the young man who is in charge) was super helpful, kind, friendly and speaks outstanding English! The entire place was super clean, and the open area lovely and a great way to meet other guests. I love that there is a kitchen where you can prepare basic meals.

It states that there is a kitchen, and whilst there are pots, pans and cooking utensils, there is no stove. If the kitchen area is unavailable for cooking, it should be made clear in the listing. Although I made do, it's one of the reasons I chose it. Our first night was in Room 301, a double with private bathroom. The mattress, whilst not overly uncomfortable, dips in the middle and so we kept rolling into each other. The next morning we moved into Room 302 next door ... much better! No mosquito nets in room. We have our own ... a life saver if you want some oxygen whilst not getting bitten.

Relaxing place, breakfast included even if the price of the night is super cheap, the hostel is modern and clean, the staff is great too!

Really clean and comfortable, very near to night market

Very well designed, with nice private double room. Staff went above and beyond to help with our queries (not all relating to our stay in Udon Thani, but about Thailand travelling in general). Location is a very short walk to the train station and food market.

If you want to walk to a restaurant that is not a market, or on Samphan Thamit Alley (we’d recommend avoiding this street as its very seedy) - you might be better to jump in a cab.
