The Metropole Hotel Cork

Das Hotel befindet sich in guter Lage, das Zentrum ist in wenigen Gehminuten erreicht. Unser Zimmer war geräumig und sehr sauber, das Frühstück (Buffet und a la carte) war abwechslungsreich und sehr lecker. Sämtliche Räumlichkeiten wirken einladend und sehr gepflegt. Das Personal war freundlich und sehr um unser Wohl bemüht. Besonders hervorzuheben ist hier der freundliche Concierge, der uns viele individuelle Tipps gegeben hat. Kostenloses parken ist im in unmittelbarer Nähe befindlichen Parkhaus möglich. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt.

It wasn't made clear when I was booking that the hotel doesn't have free parking on site, instead I had to park in a multi-storey a block away and pay €12 for overnight parking. This should be made clear by both Booking.com and the hotel. However my biggest issue was the lack of interest or care for the situation in my room. It was 28 degrees outside and when I arrived in my room it was extremely warm, uncomfortably so. The windows were open but only on a limited restrictor. I then discovered that the bathroom radiator was on full. At this point I contact reception and she advised she would let maintenance know. I waited in the room for around 45 minutes but no-one came. I went down for dinner and called with reception on the way past, she advised they had been emailed. No-one came and no-one offered me a change of room. I have subsequently complained directly to the hotel and have been ignored. The heat was stifling all night and as a result I barely slept, once I had my shower in the morning, before I could get dressed I was overheating again due to the ridiculous temperature in the bathroom. A very disappointing service for a 4 star hotel!

Check-in was easy and efficient, any staff encountered were perfectly nice

The room was boiling hot and there was no air conditioning (or if there was I've no idea where it was hidden). I have stayed before and had the same issue but that was in winter and this was a hot summer's night and it made sleeping impossible.

Loved location

The food was very expensive and wasnt much for the price

The room was small in comparison to other rooms I've stayed in Cork. However I thought your staff were absolutely lovely I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner last night.However I think the room would have been too small for 2 people.
