Squeaky floorboards!

Sehr uriges Inn. Die Zimmer sind mit einem 5 Sterne Hotel nicht zu vergleichen aber für ein Inn sehr gut. Wie fast immer in solchen Inns war das Essen prima. Hausgemacht. Auch das Frühstück kann sich sehen lassen. Das Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir hatten hier einen Übernachtungsstopp auf dem Rückweg aus Cornwall nach Folkstone. Um dort einen ganzen Urlaub zu verbringen, würde ich das Inn aber nicht empfehlen.

Location is lovely as in the countryside. The Haymaker has a lot of history dating back to 18th century The lunch/evening menu is traditional with some homemade meals and their desserts are mostly homemade. The breakfast was good. Our ensuite double room was clean, towels/bedding were of good quality. Also in the room was a kettle with tea/coffee/biscuits and lovely decorative cups/drinking glasses and a good size TV.

The Haymaker Inn has only four rooms for their guests and they are all located on the upper floor reached only by stairs and therefore would not be suitable if you have mobility issues. We found our ensuite with walk in shower, in need of updating and the tiles have issues with mouldy grouting. There was no towel rail or grab rail and only one small glass shelf above the sink.

I paid with booking.com but they failed to take my money so the owner of the hostel pursued me for the money the day I left saying that I had not paid.
