Royal Mile Famous Canongate Flat

Location was great. Communication with hosts was efficient and pleasant. Flat was clean and had everything we needed for a short stay.

The flat was not as advertised. The photos are not of the flat we stayed in so I did not feel it was worth what we paid. I also thought we were getting 3 bedrooms! We couldn't get the heating to work, instructions didn't seem to corroborate with panel. Double bed mattress was a bit soggy in the middle and not enough pillows.

Location can't be beat - steps from all major attractions on the Royal Mile! The host was amazing; always replied extremely quickly and with exactly the information I needed. Facilities were extremely clean and pleasant. Seriously good value for the price.

The only minor comment about this property is that the bedroom doors are not 100% opaque, rather they are glass with a semi-opaque curtain. However we easily resolved any privacy concerns by hanging a towel over the door. There is a lot of street noise audible from the bedrooms, but this is not the fault of the host. In fact ear plugs were also provided by the host. I truly appreciated these small gestures which overall contributed to a great stay.

Good location just down from the royal mile. Clean and comfy beds.

The locks on each bedroom were tricky. I would have not got back into mine if my husband wasn’t in there already

Its location in the city centre. It was clean and comfortable.

The photos are nothing like what we got. Our flat was run down. Kitchen work surface was chipped. Definitely no coffee machine and the kettle and toaster were cheap and flimsy. Ripped carpet in hallway was a trip hazard. One small, thin towel per guest. No bath mat so floor was lethal when wet. Would have appreciated a response (took 3 1/2 hours) as to whether we could leave our heavy rucksacks in the flat before our pre booked visit to the castle at 2:30. Told we could at 2:30 so too late. The photos show a coffee machine, we didn’t even get sachets of milk to make a cup of tea. Not what I’d expect for £450 for one night.
