Avon Hills Ella Resort

The property was amazing, the staff were very helpful and nice, Specially Manju he was always there for us whenever we needed anything, I highly recommend this hotel! Just keep in mind that this property and many hotels in Ella are located on elevated terrain, so be prepared for some climbing.

The staff was very friendly and soft spoken.

1. First of all I want to mention that there was no hot water in the washroom during our stay. We kept requesting the staff but their efforts were not fruitful in getting us hot water in the washroom. After a busy day's travel, a hot shower was our only requirement and it could not be met. We were really disappointed and my rating is totally because of that. The resort needs to seriously consider fitting geysers in the washrooms. 2. Secondly, the road leading to the resort is so steep, that it felt like we were mountaineering, with our bags and baby in arms. The walk downhill was more dangerous and really straining on the knees even for middle aged people. I don't know how the resort will be able to resolve this issue. 3. There was no provision for card payment and all transactions were required to be settled by cash. The staff needs to seriously consider getting a POS machine for seemless cashless transactions. 4. There is no restaurant on the property and for someone who had to leave early morning, going downhill to go to a restaurant nearby and come back up hill was a task in itself. Overall not happy with the property.

We loved the staff. Samira and another woman. We loved the view from the breakfast area with the hammocks. Basic breakfast.

To get to the place there is a very steep climb, it is very difficult to climb up. Luckily Samira helped us with the bags. It was very cold at night, no A/C. There are thin and uninviting blankets. A bad smell comes from the toilet/shower. The price is relatively high for the value. We left after 2 days even though we planned to stay 4 days.

Actually, their customer service is touching the roof.

Location were pretty good for the walkers but not for the ones who seeks easy access
