Coco Bay

Wow! What a stunning location! The property stretches down the hillside with stunning views of the lake from every corner & from most of the rooms. The staff are lovely! Everyone i encountered was friendly & helpful. Beautiful clean grounds & rooms. Plenty of beach chairs for everyone. Kayaks & tubes to use. Really a lovely place to spend a couple of days.

Gets a little busy down in the beach area on the weekends with people with daytrip passes, but the property is big enough that even that's not too bad.

Beautiful location! We spent a Saturday afternoon - Monday afternoon. It definitely got busy with day trippers on Sunday, but it is spacious and there was plenty of room. The staff were hospitable and the breakfast was excellent. We used the shared kitchen a couple of times. It was very basic, but worked for what we needed. The laundry service was quick.

The rooms did not have AC and got really hot even with personal fans.

Quando passo per il Nicaragua ci torno sempre. Posizione stupenda, dormitorio pure (con letti in legno) in un bel bungalow; si possono utilizzare canoe e gonfiabili. Colazione inclusa molto buona ❤️

Our room was comfortable and had a beautiful view of the lake. We had our own balcony with benches and a hammock, where you could watch the sunrise. They provided yoga mats, kayaks and tubes for the lake, plus lots of space to enjoy the sun. The cocktails were good too. There are other restaurants nearby. They arrange shuttles and activities too.

The restaurant was expensive and the food wasn’t great.

Mooi uitzicht vanaf je kamer en je kan zo in het meer stappen. Genoeg zitjes. Kamer was prima en personeel vriendelijk.

Vond de menukaart niet super uitgebreid (en eten in omgeving is zeer beperkt). Kayaks zijn wat "speelgoed" Kayaks. Niet perse geschikt om lang in te kajakken.

Loved the location, right at the wonderful lagoon. Plenty of seating areas. Kayaks provided. Lovely staff, so friendly and helpful. The dorm in the cabaña was spacious. My bed was comfortable with fresh, cotton linen that was well appreciated. The private bathroom in the dorm was good with shelves for our toiletries. More bathrooms are outside near the restaurant/bar and in the main building. Dressing rooms are provided for guests with a day pass. Food, prepared by the kitchen staff was good. There is a communal kitchen as well. Two small stores are nearby to get some basic things. Quiet time around 10 pm and all lights are dimmed outside at 11 pm. Loved hearing the howler monkeys greeting each other briefly at sunrise. I had a wonderful time!

The dorm could use some hooks to hang our clothes on. One bed (to the right of the bath, bottom bunk) the cabana needs a new mattress. Springs were poking in my back. Please provide more vegetarian options and perhaps even a vegan one.

I loved my stay at Coco Bay… such a beautiful place sat right on Lake Apoyo. I found the dorm rooms very comfortable and well laid out, the whole property felt well maintained and luxurious. The breakfast and kayak use included was a great touch and it felt more like a resort than the dorm price I paid. I’d recommend waking up to watch the sunrise over the lake, I even spotted the monkeys each day. The staff were all so kind and I’d like to especially mention Horacio who went above and beyond to help when I forgot something there, what a star! Really a credit to the team. The two days I spent here are ones of total relaxation that I look back on fondly, my only regret is that I couldn’t stay longer. Don’t hesitate to book for a slice of magic at Lake Apoyo!✨
