Hotel Victor South Beach

La posizione eccezionale sulla Ocean Drive, vicino a tutto ma non in mezzo al caos. Molto comodo da raggiungere, lo staff molto cordiale con cui ho avuto una ottima comunicazione (specialmente Laura alla reception). L'annesso 'Cafè Americano' dove facevamo colazione era una vera chicca, elegante e dall'atmosfera incredibile, non il classico posto turistico e abbiamo fatto delle colazioni eccezionali. Sempre silenzioso anche se fuori c'era il classico casino della Ocean Drive e letti super comodi. Molto particolare il mobile frigobar. Infine per un italiano come me abituato al caffè espresso la mattina, la macchinetta a capsule sempre fornite mi dava una sensazione di casa mia dal primo giorno. Bagno enorme e doccia molto comoda

Ho scelto (e pagato) una camera King Deluxe e onestamente me l'aspettavo un pò più grande.. era ai limiti per un soggiorno piacevole, considerando che chi arriva a Miami lo fa per diversi giorni e magari una coppia si porta dietro un bel pò di roba, insomma una valigia non siamo riusciti a disfarla neanche perchè non c'era spazio. Inoltre in un hotel di quella categoria (dichiarata) ci si aspetta molta più cura del bagno e dei servizi annessi. Un velo pietoso è da stendere sul balconcino. Ho scelto apposta quella tipologia di camera per il balcone e vista oceano (che c'era anche se parziale) ma piccolissimo e non ci si poteva fare praticamente nulla se non stare seduti in un unico punto e guardare piscina e mare ma in mezzo a tante strutture di ferro dei balconcini adiacenti. Le foto mi avevano fatto pensare in un balconcino importante, invece era molto piccolo con vetrate difficili e scomode da aprire. Nulla di trascendentale, ma le foto dovrebbero essere più realistiche. Erano puntuali (fin troppo) nelle pulizie ma che si limitavano a cambio biancheria e rifare i letti... Non sono sicuro lavassero anche a terra, sicuramente non tutti i giorni. Infine, onestamente credo che per l'importo speso ci si debba aspettare qualcosa di più. Vabbè hanno l'alibi della posizione.

We paid for the breakfast and it was the worst experience ever. The lady at the reception was rude, she didn’t explain the breakfast and other rules. No spa info, nothing.

The location is everything- right on the beachfront and close to everything. You can just step outside, walk around, and enjoy the area. It was super fun. The pool is also very nice. Breakfast is served at a restaurant adjacent to the hotel. You receive a voucher and can choose from a set menu. It’s actually pretty good, but keep in mind the options are somewhat limited. We upgraded to the Victoria Penthouse, which is their best room. It has a separate living room and a private rooftop terrace with a jacuzzi, which made the stay feel extra special.

To be honest, our experience was good overall and we had a great time, especially after upgrading to the Victoria Penthouse. However, I personally don’t think it was worth the price. The room is very spacious and unique, and the private rooftop is definitely special, but the room itself feels outdated and not well maintained. It almost feels like a luxury hotel room from the 90s that was never really updated. I understand this is an older hotel, but for almost $1,000 per night I expected better maintenance and a higher standard. Some examples: the built-in sound system (including rooftop speakers) barely worked, the AC struggled to cool the room and leaked, the shower flooded unless the glass door was perfectly closed, and the door itself felt very fragile. The rooftop and living room also weren’t properly cleaned before arrival, and the “smart” TV didn’t allow casting and the apps didn’t work. I do want to give credit to management- after we shared our concerns, they responded quickly, deep cleaned the room, and offered compensation with lunch nearby and a late checkout, which we appreciated. Overall, you’re paying for an amazing location, a spacious unique room, and a beautiful private rooftop- but not a modern high-end luxury room.
