La Embajada was by far the best hostel of my trip. Because it's small and cozy, it gives you the feeling of sharing a house with some wonderful flatmates rather than being a guest in a hostel. The owner really makes you feel at home, and the cute living room with TV and the terrace are a nice touch to an already welcoming space. I had to stay only a couple of nights in San Cristobal, but I decided to extend it to a week just because of this hostel. The volunteers were simply amazing and there are many shared moments and initiatives, if you want to join. Not to mention the unbeatable price and the tons of activities available in San Cristobal. I left this place with a very heavy heart and would recommend anyone to let yourself be cuddled by a family atmosphere for a while during your trip!

Great host, friendly atmosphere

Really homely vibe. There were a couple hostel group meals bringing all the guests together which is nice as it’s not often this happens with all the guests. The volunteers here are super friendly and willing to help. It’s about a 10-15 minute walk into the center of San Cristobal so super accessible.

It’s a new hostel so I suppose it’s still finding it’s feet. Some small things that could improve it is proper lockers (for those who would want one), privacy curtains and maybe some racks in the rooms to hang up towels etc. But overall really enjoyed my stay here

The hostel has a home-y feel and the common spaces were really great. We appreciated having a kitchen and breakfast provided every morning where we could meet people. It was also a good space to work in the day or chill out and watch Netflix.

The hostel is quite new so there’s a few details that could add a lot - such as making sure there is enough toilet paper in the common bathroom and curtains in the private room. But any issues were sorted very quickly by the owner, Sergio, who was always happy to help and positive.
