Gio House Genova

The absolutely wonderful hostess has put so much thought into details! From extra toothbrushes to bottle water, coffee and little cakes .. she has thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and luxurious. It’s a beautifully renovated apartment, spacious, very quiet. Excellent (free) WiFi, Netflix, air conditioner, washing machine and a very well kitted kitchen. Very close to Ferry station to take day trips to Amalfi, sorrento, capri etc.

It was hard to find. We arrived at midnight and the area felt very unsafe at that time (and we are from a 3rd world country with a very high crime rate!). We are grateful to a local couple who helped us so that we could put our phones away while navigating the very dark, narrow streets full of drug dealers, drunk people and other dodgy types. By day, when everything is open, it is the most wonderful area .. vibrant and energetic and even quite pretty. It’s also very central. But we felt we needed to be back before it got dark. The entrance and stairway up to the apartment is very dark (at all hours) and looks like a horror movie set (it is an extremely old, historic building) but once you open the doors to this wonderful apartment, it’s a whole different, very modern little world!

We had an excellent stay at this beautifully furnsihed apartment in central Genoa. Marica and Giovanni are very nice and attentive hosts who provided us with plenty of recommendations and did everything to make our stay as pleasent as possible. We would be happy to come back!

Stairs way to the room is quite dark and old

Lovely apartment. Clean, good facilities and fabulous, informative and friendly hosts. Being met personally was so nice. Great recommendations sent to us after meeting them and us saying what interested us. Owner bought my bag up which was a godsend and very unexpected.

As someone with bad knees and back the 51 steps to the second floor was manageable but not easy. Sort of goes with the territory of a wonderful location in the historic centre with everything on your doorstep. Lack of any sort of view or natural light (to any great extent) wouldn't be our choice long term. Again with type of building perhaps this goes with it. Not complaining just stating how we felt after a few days.

The apartment is very beautiful and comfortable, the location is excellent. Marica is a very friendly hostess and always ready to help. We so happy to visit Genoa and look forward to meeting again. The antique stairs was magnificent and a real challenge for us)
