"Slightly Disappointed"

7.0

Location was great. It was cosy, but with some issues.

The shower was dirty and the water would take a long time to go down the drain. Kids bunk beds was squeaky so it kept us up at night when the children would turn over. Plus also, to minimize the noise one of the children had to sleep on the sofa. I did message the accommodation but heard nothing back. The thing I didn’t like was, if we wanted to check in at 2pm, we would have to pay £20 extra. You would think as it’s not cheap to stay, it would be a given to come from 2pm, rather than making it later in the day at 4pm. They also had it if you wanted to stay till 12pm, for an extra charge of £20. That’s not really an issue because most hotels the checkouts would be at 10pm. For me personally, it was all about making that extra few pounds rather than giving a great customer satisfaction. All this feedback is not to stop people from visiting, but rather that it would help the retreat to take this feedback as a positive in order to provide a better service, moving forwards. And we wish them all the best in that.

"Wifi down, place nice enough, some issues"

6.0

The place itself was nice looking and a good-sized, we liked the little view from the window, and the location worked with a car. The bench outside was also welcome. We managed to move around and get a signal for long enough to communicate with the team about the wifi not working, and they said they'd come and have a look. The good is that they were contactable and proactive, although we didn't receive a message from them informing us of the next steps and the internet still didn't work. We liked the place overall and if the wifi and shower were fixed that would be enough to rate this much higher.

The wifi didn't work, and since there is poor phone signal and 4G/5G, wifi signal was essential on this trip. It meant I was unabe to recieve birthday messages since my phone was broken and I was relying on my laptop and my friend had to go to a cafe to get signal to send a work email. The shower door was also broken, the sofa was rock hard, and we could have done with more loo roll. It felt like it was a nice property that had been taken over and the care had been lacking since (not sure if that's accurate but that's how it felt). Extra towels would have been a nice touch but not necessary. and the bathroom door could use a seeing to, we had to pull hard on it to get it to open which resulted in my boyfriends phone falling off the windowsill onto the hard floor and cracking the screen.

"Lovely place to stay but it needs a good deep clean and the WiFi sorting out."

8.0

The cottage was lovely, very spacious and warm , the shower was amazing

Only 2 forks in the cutlery drawer, some crockery was dirty. There was dirt under the beds and the kitchen wall needs painting. The WiFi was very poor. The signal on the tv was very poor.

Peaceful location

Heating on as we walked in, temp monitor on wall just monitors the heat, phoned up as there was also no wifi was advised to turn the thermostates down on tbe radiators would have it they were fitted was told they would send someone out on Saturday....no one turned up, also told them there was no credit on the wifi was told told that would be sorted in 20 mins....wasnt sorted, the tv signal runs off the wifi so i suggest if you are staying with kids to contact them beforehand to ensure there is credit, the tap was also dripping in the kitchen and the shower door didnt fully close, they need to pay more attention to cleaning there was a dead spider in one of the kitchen cupboards cobwebs on ceiling, aside from this bed was comfy
