I had a very pleasant stay in this wonderful place, outside the main road in a green oase. Ali and his family were really helpful and great company. Would love to come back.

Staying at Puri Saren Anyar felt like stepping into a living piece of Balinese history. This family compound, passed down through generations since 1710, traces its roots to the founding of the Sukawati Kingdom by Ida I Dewa Agung Anom Sirikan (also known as Dalem Sukawati), a prince of the Klungkung royal lineage.  Hailing from true Balinese royalty, the current owners are descendants of this storied heritage, and if you’re as lucky as I was, you’ll get to spend time with them in the open-air living space, swapping stories of their family’s legacy amid the gentle rustle of palm fronds. The compound itself is a serene oasis, blending traditional architecture with effortless charm. My room was utterly adorable—cozy, thoughtfully appointed, and featuring the most comfortable bed I’ve encountered in all my Bali travels. It was the perfect haven for restful nights after days of exploration. Waking up to sunrise views from the top deck was magical, painting the sky in hues of pink and gold over lush rice fields. And for wellness seekers, the Bali Meditation Center is just a short walking distance away, making it easy to weave mindfulness into your routine. What truly stole my heart were the cutest cats and dogs roaming the grounds—playful, affectionate companions that added an extra layer of warmth to the experience. The family treated me like one of their own, sharing insights into their royal past that made the stay feel intimate and unforgettable. I can’t recommend Puri Saren Anyar highly enough for anyone craving an authentic, history-rich escape in Bali. It’s more than a stay; it’s a connection to the island’s soul. I’ll be dreaming of returning! ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

My mum said if you don't have any thing nice to say, say nothing, im that spirit,, "Nothing! " His wife was nice and took me to hospital after he suggested I call him when I got back to ensure the neibours dog won't bite me again. His daughter was nice, came and helped me turn the power back on, she rang him but he was busy,! So she held the curtain so I could get the land crocodile out of my room, it was huge!! Just a lizzard but later at night it was too much. Iv since had 8 needles n have 2 more lots to go.. iv been told the dog wasn't vaxed, had I not gone to hospital i probly would have rabies. The rooms look reasonably renovated but the layout out sucks. The black n white TV was up stairs and although he said he'd get it fixed, never did. But don't let me persuade you n I hope your experience is better. Good luck

Mein Aufenthalt im Homestay war einfach außergewöhnlich. Schon bei der Ankunft wurde ich unglaublich herzlich empfangen, sodass ich mich sofort wie zu Hause gefühlt habe. Die Gastgeber*innen und der Besitzer Agung sind nicht nur freundlich, sondern wirklich aufmerksam – Das Zimmer war sehr sauber, gemütlich eingerichtet und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Die Betten sind super bequem. Besonders gut gefallen hat mir die liebevolle Detailverliebtheit – man spürt, dass hier Menschen mit Herz bei der Sache sind.
Auch das Frühstück sowie das selbstgemachte Essen waren ein Highlight: frisch, authentisch und unglaublich lecker. Die Lage ist perfekt und einzigartig im Tempel. Besonders , wenn man im BMC meditieren möchte (10 min zufuß entfernt). Ich kann dieses Homestay wirklich jedem empfehlen, der eine authentische, warme und zugleich komfortable Unterkunft sucht. Eine klare Empfehlung – 🌿✨

I was so pleased with my stay here. It was not marketed as the royal family temple of Sukawati and it was SUCH an amazing authentic Balinese experience being at this home! The rooms themselves are basic, yet comfortable. I went to the BMC meditation retreat and it was an easy 10 min walk each way. The breakfast was lovely every morning and it was so nice talking to Ari. He is such a genuine, welcoming man and I felt right at home and so well taken care of. The dining/main area of the temple is absolutely gorgeous, I loved starting my day off there! They have 15 animals between puppies, cats, and kittens which was very wholesome. Nearby is Meeting Spot, a delicious Thai restaurant. A short drive is plenty of other restaurants. Gojek is easy and fast to order. Highly recommend staying here for so many reasons, but the authentic experience and meeting Ari was the top reason to rate it so high for me!

The village roosters will wake you up around 5am each day. You are in nature so expect bugs. I had 2 cockroaches come into my bathroom at night. No shampoo and conditioner in bathroom. If you are aware of these things and have your expectations set & are understanding I think you will not mind, enjoy the experience for what it is, and thoroughly enjoy!
