Hunday Manor Country House Hotel

Lovely hotel and friendly staff. We were given a large room but asked if we could change it to one with a view if possible, which they did . It was very clean and comfortable.

Das Zimmer, welches wir erhalten haben, kann ich leider nicht weiterempfehlen. Das Fenster war mit matter Fensterfolie abgeklebt, Licht nur über das Oberlich, fpr mich persönlichein absolutes no go.. Kaum Wasserdruck auf der Dusche. Die Toilettenspülung lief und mussten Nachts den Schwimmer im Kasten reparieren.

The location is great for a base to see all the rest of the Lake District. The view from the hotel is really nice as you can see the sea. The staff were really helpful and friendly although there are some that need to buck their ideas up as the other staff carry them. The food in the evening was good. Overall I would say it's a nice place to stay. It will be good once all the refurbishment has been completed as the hotel inside is tired and needs modernising. For some reason the sausages, bacon, hash browns etc with the cooked breakfast were always very anemic and needed cooking more. I would recommend always asking for well done but even then could be better. Having said all of this I don't want to be too hard as overall the 13 nights we stayed were fantastic but I am sure once the refurbishment is completed and there are more staff I am confident all will be much better.

Cooked breakfast can be improved. Some staff need to improve their work level. On arrival we were booked into a room already occupied, which was awkward, but was sorted the next day. Seems to be a regular mix up of table numbers and room numbers at evening meals.

Good location, food was nice

Staff need training both in serving correct drinks and taking correct food order. Both were wrong when we visited. Staff at night were not that friendly when the errors were pointed out; however this was not the case with the breakfast staff and they knew their job and were great. A lot of refurbishment going too so outside areas were limited.
