Olives and Thyme Retreat

We were the first long term stay in the villa so there were a couple of things that could have been there (eg a few more coat hangers, nothing major) but these were provided the next day. Ahead of the stay the manager, Lydia was fantastic providing information and organising a wonderful local taverna for our first night. Great food and amazing value for money. We were met by Lydia at the airport who pointed out all the local shops and supermarkets which were just 10 minutes away. Lydia was great at helping out on any questions and organising reservations for us (thank you Lydia!) The villa itself is as spectacular as the pictures. We were a group of 10 and it worked realy well, particulary the outside spaces whiich allowed people to either be on their own or part of the main group alongside the infinity pool which was where we spent most of our time. It was great that a breakfast was arranged for us which was really lovely. We were out most evenings but when we were at the villa, lunch/dinner by the pool was realy easy given that you have a full outside kitchen including a large grill, hob, fridge etc. The actual locaton is great being so close to Chania and a a couple of beach areas. We would strongly recommend giong into the nearby mountains and doing a gorge walk early in the morning followed bylunch at one of the many tavernas dotted around. We also hired a yacht to take us to Balos/Gramvousa which we would recommend (George at https://www.mikrosnaftiloscruises.gr/ ).

The one downside with the villa was its proximity to the nearby road with traffic noise during the day. You do get used to it though and at night just focus on the brilliant views!
