"Good"

There was plenty of space for our entire family of 18 to spread out yet still intimate enough when everyone came together. There are plenty of bedroom/bed size options to choose from. You could easily fit 35 and still not feel cramped. The owner did a great job decorating for Christmas. The property and outdoor activities were great with a large cozy outdoor fire pit and sledding/snowboarding hill. Overall, we were able to have a good time making family Christmas memories that will last a lifetime.

The owner communicated very well and did all they could do to help when asked up UNTIL we had issues with the septic system backing up and flooding the first floor showers and toilets on our last morning of checkout. There were no issues at all with the septic until our last morning when we had raw sewage back up and overflowed 2 toilets and 3 shower stalls and flooded the bathroom floors and starter to run into the living rooms. With my experience with septic systems the issue appeared to be with some obstruction or freeze up (we had single digit and below zero temps) between the septic tank and the lowest drain/toilet in the lodge. 12 out of the 18 of us were unable to get a shower or use the toilets, and we had to speed up our checkout as a result. The owner never considered a partial refund and stopped responding to texts after I asked them if they would consider a small refund of approximately 15% of our total cost as a gesture of good faith and compensation for our inconvenience. The hot water heater is way undersized for such a large facility with 6 bathrooms and a 2-person jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom. We were unable to use the jacuzzi as there was insufficient hot water capacity to be able to fill the tub far enough above the jets. It was difficult to maintain a consistently comfortable temperature throughout the home. Some spots were 68 while others (especially top floors) were in the upper 70s, which made it uncomfortable to sleep for some. There are light switches everywhere. After 4 days, we still had a very difficult time figuring out which switches controlled what lights/ceiling fans/accent lighting. There were many blown out light bulbs/accent lights and nightlights in the bathrooms. The water dispenser on the fridge in the kitchen continues to drip after you get a cup of water and would eventually make a puddle of water on the kitchen floor. We had to regularly soak up water on the floor from the fridge.
