Beautiful Cottage in the Yorkshire Dales

Maar een schemerlampen op een nachtkastje. Een schemerlamp in huiskamer. En verder alleen grote lamp. Keuken is erg klein en met de afvalbak moesten we steeds verzetten. De keuken tafel is goed verzonnen in de keuken,maar in de huiskamer was meer plaats hiervoor. En de veel te grote bank in de huiskamer. Een kleinere of een paar gemakkelijke stoelen passen er beter in.

Absolutely spotlessly clean, Linda the owner (lovely lady) had left some treats in the kitchen, very thoughtful and very nice 🍷 🍫😋 Thank you 😊

Nothing not to like….

We had a key safe code sent to us from Linda, the host, via booking.com messages. However, Linda was there when we arrived and gave us the key. Very friendly and helpful, yet not intrusive host. Cottage, is actually an annex to the main house. It is cosy and compact, yet spacious enough. It is beautifully and tastefully decorated and furnished. Immaculately clean and welcoming. Bottles of Wensleydale ale, ( we are non- alcohol drinkers, but appreciated the thought)! biscuits and a pint of milk, tea and coffee, cooking oil, even cling wrap and foil). Everything you need in regards to utensils and lovely crockery etc. TV in sitting room and another in the bedroom. Comfortable bed. Beautiful shower room. Parking space on drive. Very peaceful place. All very well thought out. The small, sitting area out the back is a pretty and tranquil spot, with birds, butterflies and bees and the occasional baa ! Good location to get to areas of interest. The drive over the hills to Swaledale and on to Reeth- stunning.

There is not the absolute isolation or total privacy that a detached property would give. This is not necessarily a negative, but may just need to be aware and know what to expect. There is no view of the hills and dales from property windows, but there are lovely flowers and a few sheep and rabbits about on the up-sloping area out the back, but take a walk along the lane (turn left from the drive) and you will see those glorious hills.

Charming, quiet, clean and stylish cottage in a little backwater. A haven in one of the most beautiful areas in the UK. Linda had left delightful messages for information, but they never came over as bossy, just helpful. Also she had left some lovely welcome gifts for us. We did meet her on our last day and she would obviously bend over backwards to make sure everything was perfect. We will definitely stay again.

Very clean and tidy. Had everything(and more) that we needed. Personalised touch that made it perfect. Was lovely to see some early morning visitors in the garden and birds throughout the day.

Everything. Easy to park , comfy bed and sofa peaceful and quiet location . Great as a base for climbing and walking in the dales or just sightseeing. Decor done to a very high standard. Will definitely be coming back.
