Borgo Maria Rosa - Casa rurale con camino e vista sui Nebrodi

San Salvatore di Fitalia was a gorgeous town, with many amenities and attractions available nearby. Parking near the stay (within 1 minute walk) was always available. The hosts and neighbors were accommodating and very nice to us. Borgo Maria Rosa has tons of character, is outfitted well and makes for a comfortable stay.

If I have to be nit-picky, we would have appreciated more cooling (fans or AC units). Having only one bathroom meant that more time had to be spent waiting for showering etc. A spare key for larger groups (at full capacity) would have come in handy in cases where we arrived at different times.

להפתעתנו, בכפר לא היה שילוט מורה איך להגיע....הסתבכנו קצת ושאלנו תושבת, זאת ברוב אדיבותה לקחה אותנו למקום.

We had an amazing stay here, and even stayed another night as we didn't want to leave. The house has been beautifully renovated, the area is very quiet and tranquil, and the views are spectacular. I would highly recommend a stay here, with the beach, lovely surrounding towns and the National Park only a short drive away. My Grandmother was born in the town, and our hosts were so accommodating that they found some of my distant relatives and took us to where my Grandmother grew up!

The house is beautiful, very well equipped and in stunning and very quiet surroundings, I was actually moved to tears because of the beautiful scenery

We had to wait a little at the premises before the host arrived due to heavy traffic, but once he arrived we were taken very good care of, and felt at home right away.

Our stay was amazing. Matteo and his parents were super helpful. The place was comfortable, well kept and clean. I took a video of the beautiful property, but unfortunately can't upload it.

We spent 27 to 31 July at high altitude Borga Maria Rosa in Scrisera , a short 10 min walk or 2 min drive from the village of San Salvadore de Fitalia on road SP155ter. Here we enjoyed the street sculptures, bars, and mountain village life. And a great pizza. Hosts Matteo, the son who speaks good English and his parents Dino and Antonetta were very welcoming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. They showed us their private mountain garden in front of the house with chickens and presented us with tomatoes, onions, grapes, greens and eggs. the characterful antique 1800s Borgo Maria Rosa refurbished by builder artisan Dino is quiet, super clean and well equipped with washing machine and modern kitchen and bathroom. The view accross the vallley to Galati Mamertino ( 15 mins drive) is unforgettable. There we enjoyed a great Trattoria meal with local wines. If you like to escape from crowds, noise amd queues and love clean cool mountain air, this is the place. The beach at Rocca di Capri Leone, 20 mins downhill was great for swiming and we found free parking there. Milazzo and the ferries to the 5 Aeolian Islands are about 60 mins away. Milazzo's protected wildlife peninsula is geat for walking and swimming. The famous 8km return hike to waterfall Cascata de Catafulco is nearby with cafe at the start. It is south near Maru. We splashed in the dramatic waterfall gorge and pond. We would love to return and relax and maybe explore these mountains further.

The only missing item was an electric kettle but Matt said he plans to add one
