The Serene House

Really good value for money. It is not far from the airport. It is a short walk to the beach and some cafes. It is really clean and comfortable for the price. The host was friendly and helpful.

Really nice room. Good aircondition, water heater and kettle. Short walk to main street and all the restaurants. 15 min. from Brown beach.

Serena House is located in a quiet Negombo neighborhood within minutes walk to the beach, restaurants, and mini-stores. A gorgeous villa with cool marble floors, breezy vaulted ceilings, strong Wi-Fi signal, and a personal balcony which offered an absolutely amazing view of the night sky. It was an wonderfully peaceful night's rest. The host, Janth, was extremely helpful, easily reachable via whatsapp, and made sure I had transport to the airport for my early morning flight, even wishing me a safe journey and heartfelt goodbye. I hope to return to experience another stay at Serene House to enjoy the beach and sample Sri Lanka's amazing breakfasts (kiribath and fish curry, a sublime morning combo, especially when chased with hot Ceylon tea), all which I missed due to my late arrival and aforementioned crack o' dawn departure. Great value and highly recommend!

First and foremost, the stay was great! Strongly recommend. This issue was no fault of the host or villa, but my taxi driver had difficulty finding the villa. But after a quick call to the host, clear directions were obtained, and he even met me out on the street! The villa is in fact quite easy to reach and the host even arranges airport transfers to avoid any problems. Otherwise, no issues.
