La situation et l'aménagement. Parfait pour un couple. Rien ne manque pour passer une agréable semaine..et pourquoi pas plus. Juste ce qu'il faut pour cuisiner ! La cour est joliment agrémenter de quelques citronniers. L'eau du robinet est potable ce qui est rare sur les îles grecques. Nikos est extrêmement disponible et réactif. Quelques tavernes aux environs pour satisfaire les papilles, toutes différentes avec pour point commun un accueil chaleureux.

In generale tutto bene, se devo dare un consiglio i cuscini del letto erano troppo morbidi e non davano un buon appoggio alla testa per il sonno

Nikos, the host, was incredibly friendly and always available to help with any questions. The location is peaceful and nicely removed from the usual tourist crowds (a rental car is definitely recommended). It really felt like a home away from home, with all the amenities you could need. Staying in a traditional house with modern comforts was a great mix of authenticity and convenience.

The Wi-Fi could be a bit unreliable at times, though for the most part it worked perfect. The kitchen, although very clean, requires some care with food storage as ants are quick to show up. Light sleepers might want to pack earplugs since the local roosters seem to crow around the clock.

The house is a traditional old farm house, lovingly restored to a high standard by Nikos the very friendly and accommodating owner. (It was originally built by his grandfather in 1909). The house is well equipped, has good WIFI and TV with Netflix and it's scrupulously clean. It's set in a beautiful peaceful location, off the beaten track but easy to reach the rest of the Island by local bus which runs 3 times per day. The house has a very pretty courtyard to sit and enjoy a drink. It has a lovely bbq area but we didn't use it. There are lime trees, pear trees and mint growing. You'll also find some friendly chickens roaming in and out with their little chicks. Nearby you have Taverna Asfendiou within only 5 minute walk. We ate there several times. It's a traditional and very friendly, family run Taverna, serving Stifado, souvlaki, greek salad and the like. They grow their own tomatoes and olives and sell their own Mountain Honey. The stunning Zia is only a 10/15 minute walk uphill from the house. You'll find a nice selection of places to eat and drink there. It's an absolute must to go there and enjoy the spectacular sunsets. I would definitely love to stay in this house again soon.

I only wish I could have stayed for longer

The small house was absolutely perfect, set in a beautiful location lovely kitchen and powerful shower, and very comfy bed. My partner and I enjoy walking/hiking so we were up and away early each morning for a few hours before it got to hot. On the 3 days we were there we took 3 different routes the first day we turned left to asomatos then up past the church and picked up a dirt road, which lead to cemetery, the second day we headed straight up to Zia, to see how far we could get up the mountain our intention was to make it to the summit, but was to much off a challenge, but never the less was rewarded with some spectacular views. On the third day we walked down to lagoudi turned left up towards another church and beautiful cemetery, then up to Zia and back down to asphendiou there is also a lovely taverna in the village 5 minutes from the house where we had a couple of really good meals.
