Cozy Craftsman Bungalow, Hillcrest/Mission Hills

Beautiful historic home in a great location with many modern upgrades.

My only complaint is the lack of direct response from the host/hostess to my request for a late checkout. I learned on the morning of checkout that our flight was delayed four hours and requested 1.5 hour checkout extension. I would have been okay with a denial, but I got no response at all.

Everything the house is so comfortable

Spacious and very clean property. Close to everything, safe neighborhood. Grocery stores and restaurants within a walking distance. The only downside was finding an available parking(the host provided a parking pass). We were exploring San Diego and were coming back around 8-9 pm - we needed to drive around to find parking. Nothing was available in front of the property. Our stay was exceptional and we will be back!

It has a very good location walking distance to supermarkets and restaurants and short drive for everything we need to visit. It has everything we need for our trip in the rooms and in the kitchen. The living room was also very nice.

It was very difficult to find where to park the car, I think the instructions should indicate this.

The house is beautiful

It is not possible to speak with someone for any reason. We tried more time calling and writing but no answer. Bed was broken, ice machine not working, light outside not working, pillow too soft.

This bungalow had all of the 3 Cs I look for in a vacation home. Every room was nice and CLEAN. My daughter, who used the master bedroom and adjoining bathroom, especially loved the bathtub with the handheld shower for bathing her toddler and another young child. She appreciated the separate shower stall for adults. My grandsons rated their spacious bedroom and large COMFORTABLE bed a 5/5! They asked if all of the pillows were for them....."Whoo-hoo!" Actually all three bedrooms were quite spacious and had very comfortable beds...even the front bedroom with the smaller bed. The house location was CONVENIENT to good neighborhood restaurants/cafés and grocery stores just a short 5 -10 min. walk or drive away. We found it easy to drive short distances to children's activities such as the Fleet Science Center and San Diego Zoo. We also enjoyed trying a few different breakfast dishes at the Saturday Little Italy Mercato Farmers Market and buying fresh organic fruits in seaon--a variety of berries, cherries and nectarines. *Craftsman Bungalow is just about 8 min.drive from SD Airport.

From my experience, the host needs to be more thorough in checking and responding to messages in a timely manner. I had requested a high chair for my toddler granddaughter when I booked the bungalow months in advance. The host just responded the day of our arrival that she had just noticed the request and would make sure to have a highchair there. The host only messaged me the entry code information just as I was leaving my home in Hawaii for departure to the airport. She said she realized that she had not sent it to me. I had just started to message the host to let her know that I had still not received any information from her. I hope the host will work on improving her communication with rental clients because the bungalow itself provided a great relaxing place for my family's three night stay in SD. Be aware...Parking can be a pain!! Although a 'parking' pass was provided, we still had to jockey for a space closest to the house because we had a toddler and two other young children to consider. Not easy to find a large enough space to parallel park a Chrysler Pacifica van across the street! Cars without passes were allowed to park until 7am in diagonal spaces fronting the house. So even with a parking pass, if you leave for the day, you may not find an open parking space when you return.

The location is good. The house is very clean.

The outside bathroom's floor always makes noise when walking on it. And it is hard to turn off the heating, it turns on automatically at middle night which is very noisy.
