Marriott Ranch Bed and Breakfast

We sort of stumbled onto this place. It's a beautiful ranch called "Fairfield" out near Front Royal, apparently it's the namesake for the Marriott's Fairfield brand and a place where the Marriott family grew up and still spend some Thanksgivings. We were greeted by staff upon arriving and given a free cheeseboard and bottle of wine (apparently this is the standard for arriving guests). Room was spacious and cosy, with a fireplace. Truly excellent value for money, especially when you consider it's roughly the same price as the various budget hotel chains in the area.

The room had an awful smell. Also, I don’t think we were given the room we booked, but we were told the inn was at full capacity. AC is bedroom was poorly located. The room was either too hot or blowing cold air directly into the bed.

The location is amazing. It feels so wide open with mountain views. The food and service are second to none. We had to arrive late and accommodation was great. Morning breakfast tasted fantastic and the service was extremely friendly. It really felt like they cared about us personally. The room itself was everything we needed. Very clean and nice. Bathroom was huge and much nicer than the one I have at home!

The facility is beautiful. The location is very peaceful. The people I encountered were very nice. Breakfast was superb. The cheese platter and bottle of wine was delicious. Funny fact...the bottle of wine was a New Zealand wine and I am originally from New Zealand!! Very nice treat!

The property was lovely

We had great views of the hills and the grassy meadows. It was located in a very peaceful location far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The personnel went above and beyond to satisfy our needs. The checkin person was warm and welcoming. The breakfast, served by Andrea, was lovely and we felt very welcome in the property. It was an colonial house and they have tried to maintain the look and feel as much as possible. Very comfortable and relaxing stay.

It was a little far away from restaurants.

Gorgeous location, a quintessential Virginia country inn steeped in history and charm, warm and friendly staff. Great for a romantic weekend getaway.
