Wonderful old coaching inn sensitively modernised. Very comfortable bed in room overlooking courtyard set with tables and chairs (sadly too cold and windy to use). Excellent evening meal and breakfast. Uppingham is a lovely little place to stay with easy access to Rutland Water, Stamford and Oakham but quieter!

Gorgeous location and hotel. We had a great view across the square. We needed the sofa bed making up and they came straight up and did that for us. We also had an alarm sounding and they telephoned the room to advise us it was a false alarm.

"Staff and food were great. However the House Red wine was shocking. £185 a night was a little pricey."
