The hotel was conveniently located with good parking. Staff were friendly and the room comfortable

Unfortunately I had booked dinner for our nights stay in the hotel. A large group who had been using the function room then entered may lounge area of hotel. The restaurant was not shielded from this and they were walking through eating area and were very loud. This ruined a peaceful dinner and we could not hear each other speak. I asked if we could move and we transferred to the tap room. Staff were very apologetic but due to location of the dinner tables it was not a pleasant experience. There is also another room where breakfast is served this might be better for restaurant goers if large groups are going to descendnon the lounge area

This hotel is located in the market square in Uppingham and has many historical features. It was very comfortable and well appointed in keeping with its character. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We were attending a birthday party and the meal prepared by the hotel was excellent.

The hotel kitchen was closed Sunday evening so we were recommended their sister restaurant Don Paddy's. Unfortunately this wasn't good with many menu choices not available however the hotel was very apologetic.
