Blue Beach Hotel

It’s peaceful and beautiful food was good and Chandra is service excellent and the reception sumudu very impressive service good value for the money

The hotel is right next to the beach, which was a plus. The room was spacious and had the basic necessities.

The food was disappointing. Portions were small, and the taste was average. There were no nearby restaurants, which limited dining options.

1. Serene and secluded property. 2. Owners of the hotel were wonderful hosts.

1. The property is a little rundown. The air-con of our room broke down and we had to shift to another room. 2. Need to take tuk tuk to the nearest towns. 3. Columbo is about 1.5 hours by car or by train.

It was very tired. Needs money spent on it. The whole place needs to be tidied up and redecorated. The rooms are spacious but very dated. Peeling paint and mould in areas. The windows need cleaning and the barhrooms need to be updated. Showers and screens are dirty. Mirrors are old and worn. Bed linen and towels are old and stained. The garden and pool area is also very tired, dining furniture old and sun beds dirty and broken. Dining room dark and windows need cleaning. Having said that the waiter and receptionist were very helpful. Food and drinks took a long time to arrive. Breakfast was good but the lunch we ordered was terrible. A lovely location on the beach but just not looked after.

Service, food and cleanness

We were in the hotel from 26/03 to 4/04/25. We spent a fantastic moments in Blue Beach hotel. Hotel is very quiet and we suggest to everyone who is looking for a calm, quiet place to rest. The food is great and the Staff is very kind and always ready to help, begining from the receptionist and hotel manager in one person - Sumudu and finished on the Candra - world class waiter with 32 years experience in restaurant service. Also the view from the rooms on the ocean is really amazing. We are definitely comming back to Blue Beach Hotel, maybe even this year!
