Barn End

A very picturesque property, just off the main street passing through the village and almost across the road from the pub. Well equipped and spacious with a bedroom with en-suite downstairs. This was important to us, as we were travelling with a disabled person. Comfortable beds and nice and warm with the Aga on all the time (we were there at the end of February).

Private parking but the driveway is narrow and has quite a tight corner to get in. Not too much of a problem, but be aware! As with most holiday cottages, the seating could have been more comfortable.

NA - it was perfect!

Bob and Mamadou were great hosts; they showed us around and explained where everything was. They were most helpful but not at all intrusive and we were sure we could ask if we needed anything. Barn End itself is just the most beautiful cottage - a real 'home from home' and you almost feel it giving you a warm hug as you enter. It's kitted out with everything you might need and more, and the hosts had really put a lot of thought and effort into putting together much information about the facilities and what is available in the local area too. Set back from the road in beautiful gardens, the cottage is in a quiet and tranquil location - perfect for a relaxing break with lots of walking opportunities, yet not far from the facilities of Chippenham and for exploring picturesque nearby villages and towns such as Lacock and Corsham, for example. We loved it (including our dog, who settled-in immediately!) and can't wait to come back!

Can't think of a single thing we didn't like here!

Spacious, excellent cooking and laundry facilities. Beautifully decorated, would happily have stayed in all day. Bob and Mamadou were so friendly and helpful. We took advantage of a massage with Mamadou, he was amazing, a real treat.

Welcoming and informative

The accommodation was lovely , in a quiet setting, with all the equipment you needed. The beds were very comfortable. The proprietor came and explained all we needed to know.

The seating in the lounge needed updating. The sofa although large was flat and uncomfortable as if the seats had collapsed...no comfort or padding. The other seating were two wicker chairs with cushions ...which for ages 60+ weren't overly comfortable for an evenings tv viewing. We aren't OLD but more comfortable seating would have been welcome. Otherwise a lovely stay.
