Very good location and confort at a very good price! The breakfast was spectacular with an amazing view to the sea!

Blue Ocean Treehouse is the perfect spot for a romantic getaway by the coast. Host Podii and his proud family offer a warm welcome and make your stay unforgettable. The breakfast is abundant and so delicious that you could even turn it into lunch! The treehouse is just a 5-minute tuk-tuk ride from the trendy Hiriketiya Beach, and a bit further lies the peaceful Dickwella Beach. Both really nice beaches ⛱️ Located in a quiet residential area, the house provides everything you need, including air conditioning, a mosquito net, hot water, and even a private kitchen. The ideal place in Sri Lanka for a relaxing and romantic stay!

There was absolutely nothing to complain about. However, keep in mind that there are no restaurants within walking distance (at least 15 minutes). If you’re not in the mood for that, it’s definitely possible to eat at the homestay, which is also a great option.

The little house has everything you need. The owner family is very kind. The breakfast with the sea view was amazing. And we also loved the dogs, so friendly!

Nothing, everything was perfect. You need a scooter but you can rent it from the owner if needed!

This charming little house felt like a true idyll, with its stunning ocean view and cozy wooden structure. The owners and their children were incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. The well-equipped kitchen was a great bonus, and they even provided drinking water. I would absolutely return and highly recommend this place!

There were many pros: 1. Absolutely great location. You get to stay with the locals so it’s quiet and more authentic. Yet you are only 1.1km from Hiriketiya Beach, a very popular beach and therefore there are loads of local and international food available within a km or so from Blue Ocean Tree House. Also you are only 300 meters from a small local beach.It takes 5 min tops to get there on foot. 2. Lots of places to sit outside. There is a covered dining table on a slight rise which means that we could see and hear the ocean below us while having breakfast or supper (ordered from the family our first night there). As well, it’s a great place to have a beer before sunset. 3. The air conditioner worked just great and there were also 2 ceiling fans - 1 over the bed and 1 in the living room. There was a small kitchen with utensils and glasses and a small stove. There was a full size fridge. The bed was very comfortable and the linens and towels were clean.

There were many cons: 1. We arrived at Blue Ocean Tree House at 3pm. It was a tiring travel day. We were greeted so warmly by the host, Podii’s, family. His Mom and Dad and sister were so welcoming, friendly and eager to please. We noticed some workmen around our place getting contruction material in place. The Podii’s dad, Sunny informed us that there was a “slight” problem with our rental. The toilet was leaking and they had to dig a trench to take out old pipe to the bathroom and put in a new one. 😳 We wish we were informed of this ahead of time so that we could have the decision whether to keep this booking. Anyway, work commenced at 3:30 and there was alot of noise, with jackhammering and power tools. We were dismayed but decided to make the best of it. We unpacked and got settle in as the construction noise continued. We walked down to the small beach to have a swim and enjoy the ocean. When we got back - 5:30 or so, the construction continued. We had beers at the dining table with the noise in the background and decided to order supper from the family because we were tired and didn’t want to order a tuktuk and go to a restaurant etc. It is difficult to walk here at night because it’s very dark and the roads are narrow. So Podii’s Mom made us a really nice supper which we enjoyed but still the construction noise was ongoing. Finally I told my husband that I was going to bed to read and that surely the noise had to stop soon?? In fact they didn’t stop working until we actually both went in and went to bed! 2. In the morning the toilet was still leaking. We left after breakfast for various beaches. Toilet leaked until the morning of our third day there. 3. I had to wash anything we wanted to use from the kitchen. For example, the glasses for our beer were dusty and smudged with fingerprints. 4. The fridge smelled very bad inside. It was a kind of fish smell or something like that.

super cute wooden villa with enough space for twoo persons, well equiped for a longer stay, clean and comfortable rooms. big garden terrace with beautiful wild life around. the host is very welcoming, friendly and helpful. he served us the absolut very best breakfast we had in sri lanka.

We had an amazing stay at the Blue Ocean Tree House with a private garden. There’s only one house so you don’t have any neighbors. Our host family was so kind and the Sri Lankan was very delicious and very filling. We’d definitely stay here again if we had the chance. Bike rent for a reasonable price is also available.

Absolutely beautiful and quiet accommodation with a large property! We felt totally at home here and had very, very nice hosts. In the morning there was breakfast Sri Lankan style. If required, we also booked a very tasty lunch or dinner. The price-performance ratio of the accommodation was the best we have had in Sri Lanka so far. A huge property with a cozy hut. We rented a scooter from the host for a small fee and with it we were able to explore the surrounding. 1 km away is a long, very quiet beach where is practically nothing going on except for a few surfers. The waves are particularly suitable for beginners and two surf rental shops and two bars / restaurants are right on the beach. Hiriketiya Bay (2 km) can be reached by tuktuk or bike in under 10 minutes. What we liked most about the accommodation was the not so touristy surroundings and the quiet beach as well as the large property that we had to ourselves. We immediately extended our stay twice!

It is a need place in Hiriketiya. Perfect for couples. So quiet and nice. Insane breakfast.
