Guest House La Casaccia

Nice room, clean, and quiet; stayed for a night before my flight.

It can be hard to reach this location - taxis are very expensive; my advice would be to take the Cotral bus (its goes towards Ostia) from the airport, it comes once every hour and there's a stop (on via scafa) just at the end of the street making it a ~12 min walk to the house. This can be quite a hassle, the first time but saves a lot of money.

I was very happy with my stay in this wonderful part of Italy. The place was quiet and very comfortable and I felt very much at home

The owner is very friendly and assisting. I arrived super early in the morning yet he still came to meet me to bring the key and explain things. Rooms are spacious and clean and the kitchen serves as a common area. There is some modest breakfast. Location is perfect if you are getting on a plane again shortly after, it's about a 5minute ride from the airport and costs 20-25 euros for a shuttle car/bus. The area around is not very special, but I walked all the way up to the canal which has a stretch of restaurants and also found a nice park on my walk. The bed was very comfortable and I feel I caught up on the sleep I lost on the plane the night before.

Small detail but there were no mugs for tea, only very small mugs for expresso coffee (I fed that back to the owner). And another small detail but the light in the bathroom works via a sensor, which means that a nightly visit to the toilet gives you full light :-) A ride into Rome was a bit pricey (50-60 euros one way, 1 hour drive), so if you are staying longer, I would advise to go straight into the city and pay for accommodation there as otherwise you will pay the shuttle plus the transfer into Rome. I will avoid flying in and out of this airport in the future as the shuttles/transfers are a bit too expensive in my opinion.
