Opulent Elegance in Valletta Lux Holiday Retreat

This property is gorgeous, spaceous and new. it provided me and my family with a lovely and comfortable social space that a hotel would not be able to provide. The open plan living room meant that everyone could be scattered around the room and we’d still be able to interact and be together. The location is perfect, just a 3 minute walk away from the main city center meaning we could access all sorts of resources easily and conveniently.

Unfortunately there were many things that could have been improved about our stay. The first obvious problem was the lift to our floor was not working/broken. My mother in law suffers greatly from arthritis and if she was having an arthritic flare, this would have become a major problem in terms of mobility. Going up 3 flights of stairs (with suitcases) would have been extremely painful. Upon entering the apartment, we could not immediately locate the aircon unit and it was 30c that day. We then asked for help in locating the aircon controller, sent pictures of what we thought was the controller and it was still incorrect, yet we were told by the owners of the apartment that it was the correct controller. We suffered 2 days without aircon because we were using what we thought was the controller, turns out the actual aircon controller was hidden behind a very hidden door that looks like a wall, not a door. If i had not accidently opened that door then we would have spent our 1 week holiday without aircon, suffering in a 30c room. It was very baffling how the owner did not know what their aircon controller looked like. Further into our trip, our wifi had suddenly stopped working. This was immediately brought to the team’s attention but they could not send the maintenance team out until the next day, which was absolutely fine. The next day the maintenance team arrived late afternoon, could not fix the issue and that they would return in a couple hours with a portable wifi unit for us to use. They did not return and I alerted customer service, to which they assured that they would arrive tomorrow in the afternoon again. No one returned with a solution, so we had 4 days of our trip with no wifi - meaning we had to burn through our roaming data and hope that we would not have to buy more. We were offered no compensation for this, the customer service team was at its worse in this situation and we were all left very frustrated.

Overall excellent. Great location, close to the restaurants/pubs/cafés, yet quiet in the evening/night. Very clean, with modern appliances and furniture, comfortable beds and sofa. Property management very nice, helpful, organizing the transport from and to the airport, ready to support as well with trips around the island/Gozo/Comino.
